Golden Key International is an international society that recognizes the academic excellence of the top 15% of university students in all areas of study. A non-profit based organization, Golden Key distinguishes itself from other honour societies by providing tangible benefits and services.
Golden Key is THE premier honour society. By joining Golden Key, you will receive a certificate of membership that recognizes you as one of the top 15% of your university as well as be able to list your membership on your resume. Golden Key members have the opportunity to attend a ceremony in recognition of your efforts and achievements in addition to being able to participate in events exclusive to Golden Key members organized by the local chapter. You will be able to take advantage of benefits open only to members such as career assistance, a chance to to be granted over US$500,000 annually in scholarships and awards, Golden Key publications, invitations to Golden Key conferences and other networking opportunities. In addition, each Golden Key member will have the chance to nominate for a position on their local chapter executive committee. Executive committee members will have the opportunity to develop much-needed professional and leadership skills as well as conducting the activities of their local chapter.
In times past, a university degree was sufficient to secure a rewarding professional career. In current times however, this is no longer true. Being a Golden Key member distinguishes you from the other students. Being a member means that you are among the top 15% of your university. An active participation guarantees that you will have the prerequisite skills to survive and excel in the competitive market.
Golden Key has a Corporate Council made up of companies that support Golden Key , actively recruit Golden Key members as well as host skill building workshops and career panels. In addition, Golden Key also associates with an extensive and diverse group of career assistance companies hat recognize and prefer Golden Key members for graduate employment and work experience
Golden Key is an exclusive invitations-only society. Invitations are based on your academic achievements during the first year of your study. If you are recognized as one of the top 15% of your faculty, it automatically makes you eligible to join Golden Key. All new members are required to pay a one time registration fee. Remember, joining Golden Key is a lifetime affair!
All USM chapter members will be able to attend an induction ceremony that will take place near the beginning of the second semester.
Each membership fee is invested in the undergraduate scholarships provided by Golden Key, to facilitate the contacting of eligible members, provide chapters with resources and training materials and producing Golden Key publications. In addition, a portion is set aside as annual subsidies for chapters to send delegates to Golden Key's international conference and Asia-Pacific conference.
