The Personality and Abortion

(Granger): Many people do not want to raise children, for whatever reasons. They are faced with pregnancy and seek a way out. Abortion, divorce, or both may be the result. The solution is not easy. We understand the dilemma and our heart-felt sympathy is with those in this situation. We want to make some suggestions here, not criticisms. First, abortion has its own built-in problems, so does divorce. Neither is an ideal solution. There may be other solutions, if the couple would calmly explore all possibilities first. One way is to consider the child. Any normal person wants to give the opportunity for the birth of a child in suitable conditions. The High-soul seeks the opportunity for the birth into the earth, but the soul will not force its way into the earth. If the opportunity is removed by abortion, the soul quietly withdraws the potential personality from the scene. The soul will protect the personality, you may be sure of that. But there are problems here too.

When a High-soul is required to withhold, or withdraw a personality from the unborn child because of a pending abortion, the personality is now without a goal toward which it can aspire. There is a need here for the personality to be reoriented toward some other way. There are many other pathways this personality may follow. One way is through other planes of life, not revealed to those on earth. These planes of life are just as real as physical life. The personality may choose another physical birth as the opportunity presents itself. It may choose to remain in the spirit, and develop along the same lines as we are following here. There are a number of ways it may work out its pattern of development. Its objectives will be achieved.

We do see many unfortunate choices made however. Remember, a High-soul gives each personality the freedom of choice; the freedom of choice will never be withdrawn. The soul is ready to change the pattern of development on the request of the personality, but will not force the personality to change its chosen course of development no matter how unfortunate the choice may be. Freedom of choice is an inherent characteristic of the soul. It retains this characteristic from the Higher Consciousness.

The bottom line we want to make here is that greater implications are present in an abortion, at a later stage of pregnancy, than meets the eye on earth. The soul will protect its personality, but many factors enter here. Much better to avoid the pregnancy than to let the situation develop.
