The Senate No. 6: Flexible Ideas versus Increasing AgeThe Senate No. 6 (27/OCT/1984): You have developed the belief that your ideas are more structured and have less freedom to move around as you increase in age. It is true that your thinking is more rigid now, but that is true because of your belief-caused reality. You are simply following the reality you created by your beliefs. The condition, in fact, has nothing to do with age, only with beliefs about age. The inner mind (the non-material mind) is not in any way influenced by the age of the physical body. The brain is a channel, but it is certainly not the regimenting or limiting factor. Why not develop a habit of a think-tank session each and every day. Keep notes. Read the previous day's notes and add comments. We are convinced that you could gain great benefits here. When you begin your daily exercises, try to isolate the specific session time from your "work-a-day" world and its problems. You are flying at two or more altitudes at the same time. Your higher altitude will dip down into your lower altitude and help and take out useful data - ideas - but you benefit most and travel faster if you can keep the two levels separated as you go along. Get the idea of flying along in a helicopter that humps along over the hills and drops down in the valleys, while the streamlined jet zooms along at higher altitudes. "The two planes" are in constant communication in a way you have no need to be concerned about. Just learn to leap from one to the other … and know which you are in. You see, what we are doing here is trying to separate the interest in the spiritual body from the physical, logical brain in the physical body. Both have well-defined and unique functions to perform. They both work better when each is being recognized in its own right. You should never expand one while holding the other back. |
