For the people who clicked here, arigato!! This section is dedicated to the song "HARU WO AISURU HITO".
WHY? You may ask. Well, this was the first GLAY song me and my onii-chan, Kougaiji, heard. I only liked it at first, but loved it after a few more listens. I think this is probably the best way to judge GLAY= hear them before you see them, like mentioned in the In Defense Of... page. This song is my onii-chan's favourite song. (of all time.).
Who can write songs like this nowadays? The lyrics are so poetical and yet the tune is so simple and sweet. I love the way
I am glad that I heard GLAY. They have really changed my life and their music is just so great. +Although Unity isn't that great+. I hope they will go on producing quality music, for the love of music.
Plus, many people here tend to compare GLAY and F4. Whaaa-? HOW CAN YOU COMPARE THEM? GLAY is not a boyband! Remember this, esteemed reader!
LILIN'S FIRST EVER GLAY SONG: Haru Wo Aisuru hito.
LILIN'S FAVOURITE MEMBER: TERU!!! +I seem to like guys who look like him+!
LILIN'S FAVOURITE SONG: All are just too great! Kougaiji's fav song is as mentioned above.
Thank you, GLAY! This page is dedicated to you guys, fans and music!
As you can see, I really love this song. Sometimes, I wonder why it seems to be one of the less famous Glay songs. You rarely hear anyone mentioning 'Haru...'; other songs like 'Yuwaku', 'Winter, Again' and 'However' always get the limelight.
So now, we'll let this one take it. Heh, this is probably one of the few websites with a section dedicated to this song (if not.. the only website).
I first heard it almost two years ago (it's 3/1/2003 as I'm writing this) whilst I was in boarding school. My room-mate then was this HK fellow who happened to possess a wide range of Canto-pop and other asian music CDs. One day, whilst he was playing volleyball, he'd left his CD player on with the Glay Drive disc 2 playing inside. I was in the room reading, paying little attention to the music, when 'Haru...' came on. I heard it, thought it was nice and then went back to reading.
Over the next few days, he played the CD more often so naturally started I hearing 'Haru...' more often. I started loving it even more up to the point where I borrowed the CD and recorded 'Haru...' and 'Be with You' on to my laptop. Oh yeah, 'Be with You' is kinda the second Glay song I fell in love with.
Anyway, I went back home during the end-of-term holidays and one of the first things I did was make my two sisters listen to the two songs I'd recorded. Lilin really loved it, bought Glay Drive soon after and since then, she's become the biggest Glay maniac on Borneo island. For me, I've grown to like almost all of their other songs (as you can tell, I didn't really like the rest at first, seeing as I ignored everything other than 'Haru...' and 'Be with You') and this just goes to show that you should always give Glay second and third listens (Lilin really HATED the unity album and I still have the very negative e-mail she sent me about it. Now, she loves about 2/3 of the songs and some of them were absolutely dissed in that e-mail).
I remember her begging me to turn on the laptop everyday just to play the song before she bought the CD. My other sister also loved it and although she doesn't really like Glay, this is one exception (actually, she doesn't like the rock aspect of Glay, which is strange because she also really loves 'Global COmmunication').
Now that I've moved on to higher education, Glay's become more important to me. I find that their music, more that anything, is a very good way to keep me going.
Like I said in the review, every person I know who's ever heard this song thinks it's nice, even several of my cousins who generally dislike Glay a lot (largely due to Lilin's constant habit of listening to their music right in front of them). So this song will always be special to me and until the day some other band in the world writes a song that shakes the heavens, this sweet, simple love song will be my number one.
