Vegeta was born to King Vegeta, Soverign King of the Saiyan race.
As a child, he already weild considerable power to that of an adult.
And even before he reached adulthood, his power has far surpassed the King himself.
This was why most of the Saiyan community believe he was to become the Legendary Super Saiyanjin.
Since young, Vegeta was exposed to the ultimate truth that power is everything. He knows too well that his father's planet was controlled by Freezer, but he couldn't do anything against the mighty alien. Moreover, Vegeta hates his father for bowing down to Freezer, as he was subjected to both orders and humiliation from Freezer's subordinates. Soon his heart was frozen and he became both cruel and arrogant of his abilities.
Informed of the fact that Earth has 7 DragonBalls capable of fulfilling all wishes, he flown there with his servant.
This was where Vegeta first met and fought with Goku and company.
In the end, he was badly injured and he barely escaped in his space-pod where he returned home to recuperate.
However, he took off again to Plant Nemek after knowing that Freezer had discovered his plan.
In the course of the action, he was killed by the Final Form Freezer.
| Vegeta returned to life once again when Goku and company made their wishes known to the Planet Nemek's Sacred Dragon. It was then he learned of the fact that Goku had became the Legendary Super Saiyanjin. Sorely disappointed by the truth, he went on a harsh training routine. One day, furious that he could not defeat Super Saiyanjin Goku in his present form, led to him finally becoming a Super Saiyanjin! However, his battle against No.18 tored his pride apart. Apart from losing to an android girl, his dream of the invincible Super Saiyanjin crashed into oblivion.

Vegeta was sorely disillusioned about the Saiyan Legend when Goku came along with a plan.
Soon Vegeta and his future son, Trunks spent a whole year in the Time Mansion which is equilvalent to a day in the real world.
After a year's worth of training, Vegeta confronted Second Form Cell and beat him to a pulp but his arrogance led to Final Form Cell's creation.
| He was nearly killed in that battle against Final Form Cell. Vegeta met up with Final Form Cell during the Cell Tournament, but it was Goku who took charge there. During the battle with the Cell Kids, Vegeta barely stand up to them. And when Ultimate Form Cell killed his future son Trunks, Vegeta stormed up a fury but to no avail. But in the end, Vegeta helped a little in the total annihilation of Ultimate Form Cell with a timely blast.
In the release of Fat Buu from its stasis shell, Vegeta aligned himself to the Evil Wizard to gain stronger power.
His wish was to fight with Goku again when Goku came to Earth for a day.
They went Super Saiyanjin Level 2 and sparred but was equally matched but their powers were drawn into the creation of Fat Buu.
| Fat Buu easily defeated Vegeta but it was then did Vegeta realised his love for his family. He decided to use a kamikaze blast in which Fat Buu was blown into smitterins. However, his effort was not able to stop Fat Buu who manages to put himself together with the pieces. Finally, Vegeta and Goku merged to temporary form Gogeta and was able to stop Buu easily. But in the end, Goku was the one who destroyed Child Buu using the Spirit Energy. Peace finally reign but Vegeta and Goku, the last surviving real Saiyan race kept on training.......
