Hailing from London, the grunge rock band Bush was formed in 1992 by singer-songwriter-teen hearthrob Gavin Rossdale, guitarist Nigel Pulsford, bassist Dave Parsons and drummer Robin Goodridge, all veterans of the British music scene. After gigging around the U.K. the band signed to the then-unknown American label Trauma Records; their 1994 debut album Sixteen Stone became a surprise hit in the U.S. thanks to the MTV buzz bin single "Everything Zen," whose Eddie Vedder-style vocals and Nirvana-esque guitars won over legions of young fans.
