This pretty small, ancient city is the capital of the department (state) of Nariño, located at the southwest of Colombia.
San Juan de Pasto has many exotic and awesome places, some of them are:
"La Cocha" lace, there you can row around and take beautiful photographs of the surroundings, "Chimayoy" the environmental center, whose name means to go to the meeting with the sun. There nature lovers can go and take a walk around its park and admire its gardens, but… If you're really brave you can climb the "Galeras" Volcano and explore its nature.
San Juan de Pasto is growing at an incredible rate but somehow Pasto manages to retain the small town atmosphere that has made it a long favorite place for many.
This picturesque city provides much more to the tourists than quiet places. Great local restaurants offer delicious dishes. There are some open bars, which have relaxing tropical and local drinks, located in an exclusive area downtown.
The culture aspect of San Juan de Pasto is represented in the "White and Black" carnival, that takes place in January; religious baroque churches, educative museums and libraries.
"Pasto is without doubt one of the cities worthy of visiting in Colombia"
