John has been playing guitar for almost 5 years now, but he's been exposed to music his whole life. His father is a bluegrass banjo player and John originally learned guitar to accompany him.He picked up mandolin about a year before he started playing guitar but hasn't really played seriously until about a year ago.

John has been known to play many types of music including bluegrass, classical, hardcore, emo, alternative, classic rock, jazz, reggae, and gypsy jazz. Alot of his musical influence comes from bands like Hopesfall, Converge, Poison the Well, Counting Crows, Silverchair, and Nickel Creek.
