Ayeka
If someone came up to you on the street and told you they were going to marry their half-brother, what would you say? "You're crazy!"? You bet. Can you imagine that a princess would do such a thing? Well, this one would. Guess who!
Don't answer that. Her picture is all over this page, and every one of us knows her name. Princess Ayeka, First Crowned Princess of the Jurai Royal Family, and Queen of the Snobs, if you ask me. But the purpose of this profile is not for me to make fun of her--I'll let you decide whether you like her or not on your own.
Ayeka has a sense of power that no one can steal from her. She believes that what she wants happens, what she says is law, and that everyone is to obey her. She's a princess, after all, she should get what she wants! This is probably why she hates Ryoko so much--the demon stands in the way of her relationship with Tenchi.
She's spunky and confident, pretty and powerful. Unlike many anime girls who want to show off their body by exposing it, Ayeka dresses well for every occasion, be it a visit to the hot spring, or a trip to the busy city. Her hair is always kept under control, pulled back into two thick ponytails that run down the length of her body. The princess has the same color eyes as her sister Sasarmi: red, and they're usually glistening with an idea to get Tenchi alone or to impress him...But she can't cook, she's way too slow at it. Kinda like Mihoshi and driving...
As the First Crowned Princess of the Jurai Royal Family, Ayeka was to marry her half-brother, Yosho, and rule the empire when the time came. But unfortune cast its ugly shadow, and Yosho went off to fight Ryoko, who was threatening to be a problem for the Juraians. Alone and husband-less, Ayeka waited for her beloved brother to return...but he never did. The princess decided to go look for him, and eventually crash lands on Earth after she sensed Ryoko's presence on the small planet.
When Kagato attacks, Tenchi's grandfather steps in to help Tenchi defend the women--and the villain blows his identity. The old man is none other than Yosho himself! Stunned, Ayeka drops to her knees. "What happened to my Yosho...my handsome Yosho...?" Her brother comforts her, acknowledging the fact that he's too old to marry her now, and that Tenchi would make the perfect husband. Blushing slighty, Ayeka finaly realizes that Yosho is correct...and that's when it all begins.
Though she hates Ryoko to the core, Ayeka actually enjoys the brawls she has with the demon--the house is just too quiet without them. In Tenchi In Toyko, Ayeka and Sasami are the only ones left at the Masaki residence; Ryoko had taken off, Kiyone and Mihoshi had gone back to headquarters, Washu had locked herself in her lab, and Tenchi was off at college. The princess seems to be the only one worried, though...how can that be? And why...?
