 Momiji Sohma
Momiji is the rabbit from the Juunishi. He's utterly adorable, bouncy, fun, and just loves to be around people. There isn't a bad thought in his blond little head, and he's always caring about people. I guess you could say he's a male version of Tohru. He dresses quite adorably, though he does wear a girl's uniform to school. He's just the type to do something as conspicuous as that.

Momiji first comes into the series when Tohru's class is having a rice ball sale. The little Sohma has the look of a elementary school student, and a feminine one at that. But he's adorable, and always looking around at people with those wide brown eyes of his. He takes to Tohru right away, loving the fact that she knows about his curse, and thinking it's okay to just go ahead and glomp her, he does so! The little boy is overly friendly and loves to be around her. Wanting to make her happy, he even takes her to a hot spring resort for White's Day, a day where boys give gifts to girls. Tohru accepts, and exclaimes that she feels like a princess--and Momiji responds, "If Tohru's a princess, I'm her prince!"

He doesn't seem to understand that Tohru is a girl, and that there should be some boundaries between the two. While at the hotspring, he constantly annoys Kyou and Yuki unconsiously by asking Tohru to soak in the same hotspring as him, and sleep in the same bed. (Don't think on it for one second, all you perverts out there. He's too naive to do anything, anyway!) Speaking of Kyou and Yuki, they both get aggitated with Momiji easily, though Yuki tries his best to be more patient with his small relative. Sorry, did I say small?? Momiji's actually going to be a freshman in high school! And not just any high school--Tohru's high school!

When he was very very little, Momiji's mother had a mental breakdown. She couldn't deal with the thought of having a child she couldn't embrace without having it turn into an animal. She hated herself for giving birth to such a "monster," and begged Hatori to erase every memory and thought she had of her son. I believe she loved Momiji very much, and he her, his mother just couldn't take it. Momiji did his best to understand what his mother was going through, and he got support from his father, who possibly loved him more than his mother did. (I liked Momiji's father, he seemed to be a very caring person.) So Hatori agreed to erasing the woman's memory, and she left his office without a care in the world. Hatori, kind enough to think of it, offered to do the same for Momiji, but the little boy wanted to remember his mother. He wanted to carry on the memories of her, no matter how much it hurt him. He tells Tohru that his mother now thinks that he's someone else's child. He has a little sister, actually, and is kind and loving to her as a brother should be. It's very heartwrenching...
