 Tenchi
Tenchi Masaki... He reminds me of Keiichi Morisato: living with a bunch of beautiful women, and doesn't dare make a move on one of them--even the ones who hit on him. But he's an all around good guy, trying to make the best of the situation for the benefit of the others. He's quite the pushover--lots of the guys at his school take advantage of his gulibility.

Cheerful and considerate, he can be vaige at times; he never quite gets the message that Ryoko and Ayeka are crazy for him. He treats each of the girls with respect, whether it be Ryoko or Sasami, and even Ryo-Oh-Ki. Though when chaos reaches it's peak at his house, he can get a little angry...but he never holds grudges for long. His attention usually leans more towards the space pirate and the princess; the other girls just don't seem to have the spunk to keep up with him. From time to time, though, they will come forth with a burst of passion, and Tenchi can't help but humor them.

Tenchi is the First Prince of the Jurai Royal Family, meaning he can produce Light Hawk Wings in times of need. He also uses the Light Hawk Eagle Sword, given to him by Ayeka, who, by the way, is his great-aunt. Creepy, isn't it? His grandfather, Yosho, is Ayeka's half brother and would-be-husband.

Our young hero's mother died when he was young, and he doesn't remember much about her until Washu takes takes him and the gang back in time to save her--and Tenchi's future. His father is still alive, but hasn't remarried. Together in one house, Tenchi lives with his father and grandfather, who trains him in martial arts and sword fighting. How else do you think Tenchi became so good with the sword? He's died once, right after Kagato blows up his ship, but Sasami brings him back with the help of Tsunami. Masaki's a pretty lucky guy.

In the 3rd OAV, Tenchi In Tokyo, Tenchi moves away to the city of Tokyo for college. There, he meets Sakuya, a strange girl who seems to have lost her memories of her past...but she's cheery enough to win Tenchi's affection---and the prize of being his first kiss. Ryoko happens to witness everything, and it crushes her to the point of insanity; How could Tenchi turn his back on her like that?!

Whenever there is trouble--one of his companions being kidnapped, a new villain emerges from the shadows--Tenchi is there to take the problem head on. He never seems to give up, either, even in the bleakest of situations. Actually, he's pretty good at giving hope to others, but he's not very confident in himself. He contantly doubts whether he can beat an enemy or not, which usually leads to a few good attacks from the present villain until Tenchi get's his act together, and starts to fight like he means it.
