Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What is a treasure hunt?
A treasure hunt is a fun activity where an individual or a team is given directions to follow. And along this specified route, they must solve clues, obtain treasures and perform other activities as instructed by the hunt setter.

What types of treasure hunts are there?
There are many forms of treasure hunts. The most popular being the motor treasure hunts where teams hunt in their cars. Also increasing in popularity are walk hunts. The hunt setter may add various forms of 'tasks' in between to make the hunt more challenging and exciting.

What do you do in a motor treasure hunt?
You will be given directional maps called tulips, which will show you the route to take. There will also be route questions to solve, answers to which are usually signboards seen at marked sectors along the way. You will also be given treasure questions, somewhat akin to riddles, which you have to solve, and then bring in the items so described.

How many people are there in a team?
There can be an individual hunt or between two or three people in a team, as typical in a walk hunt. However, in a motor treasure hunt, the normal number is four, which consists of a driver, a navigator, and the two team members at the back.

What is the duration of a typical hunt?
Anything from a couple of hours (for a short walk hunt) to nine hours or more (a motor hunt to an outstation destination).

What are the numbers that you need for a successful hunt?
Anything from ten participants, for a mini walk hunt, to 150 cars, for a fairly large motor treasure hunt. Small or big, perhaps what's important is that each of the participants has had a FUN time!

How does the programme of a typical treasure hunt look like?
You can choose between a one-day hunt, typically a local hunt which starts in the morning and ends with high tea or dinner, or you can have an overnight hunt which finishes at an outstation destination your choice. A briefing needs to be held prior to the hunt. This is to familiarise the participants with what a treasure hunt is all about, as well as to distribute T-shirts, goodie bags, stickers, etc.

How much does a treasure hunt cost?
The cost will depend, invariably, on a few factors, and they include the number of participants, whether it is a local or outstation hunt, the logistics (and creativity) involved in organising the hunt, as well as the type of services that you want us to handle. But worry not, as apart from giving you the best treasure hunts, we also pledge the best quotes you will find in town!
