Sam
and team win 22nd Kiwanis Treasure Hunt
Bukit Merah:
Sam and team-mates, Liew Kok Seng, Teh Boon Kai and Dev Kumar, beat
more than 100 teams to become champions of the 22nd
Kiwanis
'Lights, Camera ... Action!' Treasure Hunt, held on
28th May
2005 from Petaling Jaya to Taiping.
For
their winning efforts, the foursome each won a return flight to Brisbane,
courtesy of Malaysia Airlines, and a trophy, contributed by Royal Selangor
International. It is also a back-to-back win for Sam, Kok Seng and
Boon Kai, after their perfect-score win in the annual treasure hunt last
year.
In this year's hunt, teams not only had to answer 40 route questions
and two movie poster posers, but they also had to break four treasure
clues and two Crack-a-Pots, as well as complete a Wild West Show shooting
event at the end of the hunt. Participants put up at the Bukit Merah
Laketown Resort, where they stayed for two nights.
The Kiwanis Treasure Hunt is organised by the Kiwanis Club of Kuala
Lumpur, and is in aid of the Kiwanis Down Syndrome Foundation,
among other beneficiaries. It is recorded as the longest-running
treasure hunt in the Malaysian Book of Records, and is one of the premier
treasure hunts in the country.
