Saiyan Saga

Seven years after the original Dragonball saga, Son Goku and Chi-Chi have had a son named Son Gohan after Goku's adoptive grandfather. All is peaceful as Goku journeys with Gohan to a reunion with his friends at Kame House. All the while, a strange warrior with a tail and long black hair has come to earth as well. While first confronting Piccolo, the offspring of Piccolo Daimo, the strange warrior senses Goku with a device and heads his way. The warrior, who arrives at Kame House, introduces himself as part of a warrior race called the Saiyajin, as well as being Goku's brother. He explains how Goku was meant to come to earth and then destroy everything in preparation for sale. Though this man named Radtiz requests Goku (or Kakarotto, as he is called by Saiyajin) to rejoin him and destroy the earth's inhabitants, but of course, he refuses. Angered by his defiance, Raditz kidnaps his son Gohan, and flies off. Goku, knowing he can not defeat his brother alone, employs the assistance of Piccolo. Even though they both attack the Saiyajin warrior, the two are still toppled by Raditz's superior power. Even Son Goku's Kamehameha has no effect on him. At this point, Piccolo tells Goku of a new secret attack he's been working on that was previously designated for Goku himself. However, in the current circumstances, Piccolo would have to use the attack on Radtiz. Because of how long the attack takes to charge, Goku must face Raditz alone, allowing him to be pummeled. Piccolo finally finishes charging up and shoots the beam he calls Makankosappo. However, the attack misses. At that moment, Gohan, seeing his father being beat up, becomes enraged and breaks out of the Saiyajin Space Pod that is his prison. Gohan charges and head butts Raditz, leaving him temporarily stunned. With that chance, Son Goku grabs hold of Raditz's tail and tells Piccolo to try the attack again. (As a side note, Piccolo only has one arm at the moment). Piccolo finally shoots the beam while Goku is still hold Raditz, blowing through them both. The two warriors die, but before they do, Piccolo mentions how Goku will be revived with the Dragonballs. Here, Raditz reveals that his power-sensing device (a scouter) can also be used as a means of communication. He tells them that the other Saiyajin know about the dragonballs and will arrive on earth in a year. At last, he falls silent. From here, everyone basically begins training for the arrival. While Kuririn, Yamcha, Tienshinhan, Choazhu, and Yajirobe train at Kame's Lookout while Gohan trains with Piccolo. Of course, Gohan did not go with Piccolo voluntarily; he was technically kidnapped by Piccolo, who hoped that he could teach teh child to control his great power. Meanwhile in heaven, Son Goku heads toward Kaiou-Sama's planet in hopes of receiving training. On the way there, he faces a demon snake in the form of a princess and falls into hell as well. Eventually, he does reach the small planet, and begins his training be chasing Kaiou-Sama's monkey, Bubbles, and then Gregory. As a more advanced technique, Son Goku also learns the art of Kaioken, where he can multiply his power, though his body will eventually collapse if too much power is released. The other more important ability is the Genki Dama, which draws upon the energies of the planet to form a devastating energy ball. After a year passes, the Saiyajin, known as Nappa and Vegeta, land. After destroying a city, they head to battle Piccolo and the others. The earthlings must then fight six Saibamen, released by Nappa. Most of them are easily destroyed, but Yamcha is killed by the self destruction of one of the aliens. You'll find later that Yamcha gets beaten pretty easily in future battles as well, like the 'lil thing with Dr. Gero. Anyway, Nappa joins in the battle, killing Tienshinhan and Choazhu easily. Though Kuririn convinces Vegeta to wait for Goku, the three warriors are left only given three hours of rest. When three hours are up, the battles resumes, still with no sign of Goku. Kuririn and Piccolo plan an attack to destroy Nappa, and may have succeeded, if Gohan did no chicken out at the last moment. Later, Piccolo sacrifices himself to save Gohan from one of Nappa's blasts. As a result, Kame dies as well. Kuririn and Gohan are the only survivors when Goku arrives. Extremely angry, Goku defeats Nappa easily. Vegeta and Goku then face off, and it would appear that Goku is too powerful for Vegeta when he unleashes his Kaioken attacks. Seeing that he was overpowered, Vegeta transforms himself into an Ozaruu. In doing so, Vegeta beats Goku around, smashing his legs as well. This continues until Yajirobe saves the day by cutting off Vegeta's tail. Kuririn and Gohan then have to battles Vegeta. While Gohan is no match for the Saiyajin prince, Goku hands Kuririn the remaining energy from the Genki Dama he was gathering. Using the power of the earth, Kuririn defeats Vegeta, forcing him to flee from the planet.
