In This section of Nebraska, you get alot of the same stuff as in Southeastern Nebraska, but there are some different fish as well. In the areas surrounding Orchard, Nebraska (Ashfall Fossil Beds)There are alot of cold water springs. These springs have a cool enough water temperature that they can support trout. So enterprising citizens of the area have brought in several different
breeds of Trout and stocked them in to man made lakes up there. They then are fish farms where you can go and fish specifically for trout. Some of them have gotten out into the streams of the area, and you can catch them there too. There are also alot of lakes up to the very north along the border of the Missouri again. These have the Largemouths, and Bluegill mostly. Pictured above is the Gavins Point Damn on the Missouri River. One bank is South Dakota, one is Nebraska. At Gavins Point, you can fish for the famous Paddlefish. You don't use bait for them, you try to snag them with the hook.
