South-Central Nebraska

In the South-Central region there are many places to fish. A popular choice is shown in the picture to the left. Interstate 80 runs right along the Platte River. The River over the course of years has left depressions and other ditches that filled in with water and fish are now in them. People like to fish in these ditches. There are aproximately 40 of these small ponds.
You can also fish in the various lakes made for irrigation water. This area is pretty dry, so they need these lakes to grow crops. A perk is the bass and bluegill and crappie in them.
