The Southwest Region has in it the largest lake in Nebraska, Lake McConaughy. It is one of the best fishing areas in Nebraska. In the picture to the left, boats are lining up along the damn to fish off of it in the evening. It is one of the best places to fish. They have to have special rules for the boaters who do this due to the large |
| number of people who do it. There also is alot of ice fishing that takes place in this section in the winter time. It contains some of the sand pit lakes that the other regions contain also. The Platte River runs through it as well. | |
