Well I'm happy to report that nothing blew up and things seem to have proven themselves Y2K compliant...except maybe the toaster...it burnt my toast this morning.......

What a week. My son was off to the residential home today. A very sad experience for all of us. He'll be home on the weekends...and those weekends will become very precious to us all.

2000 seems to be off to a very rocky start thus far. I'm in a position where I must now look for a new apartment. Not only are the hydro bills outrageous for such a small place, our neighbours have become intolerable.

Am very pleased that my new Guestbook seems to be functioning and is already being used. It's always very nice to see what others think of my cyber home.....

Well first day back to work and NOW I get the flu symptoms.... Just lovely.... oh Well.

My Darling sweet son called me at 8 am this morning from the Home.... Wanted to say "hi" before he went off to school.....Awwww. Seems he's adapting well so far but we really won't be able to tell for sure for a couple of weeks yet.

I t's hard to believe that this site is pretty much a year old. I was thinking back (or rather trying to) to it's very first appearance. It has changed a half dozen times since then as my skills (and software) increased. I can barely remember what it looked like now. I've discovered that your website is never done....just when you think you've done all you wanted to pick up new ideas and or graphics and absolutely MUST try them out.....but I enjoy the creative process almost as much as the end results.

A dark and damp morning to be sure. I don't think I've mentioned it here but I have recently been suffering from a condition known as Plantar Fasciitis. To make a long story short it is a repetitve strain injury most common in heavy sports players...which I am not. It is also common in the 4th and 5th decade of life...which I am not. It can also occur after a severe foot injury...which I had last year.

The muscle on the bottom of my foot that is responsible for maintaining the arch is pulling away from the heel causing a "heel spur" ( bone deposit to fill gap left by muscle ) to occur. This causes extreme pain ( commonly worse in the morning or the first few steps of any activity ) with nearly every step. Treatments are more successful BEFORE the heel spur begins when the pain isn't already chronic.

Although I have several options that are open to me to treat the condition I am finding it difficult to deal with. I now must have help to walk my child to school every morning and can no longer walk more than twenty minutes at a time without severe pain. I am finding it difficult to work at my community placement ( part of the Workfare program also known as Ontario Works ) accordingly... even though it is only three hours a day and not very physically demanding.

I am placing a link here to a site, knowing it will once again dispell some of my "mysterious" airs ... but for anyone out there also suffering from any form of RSI ( Repetitive Strain Injury ) it will help you immensely.

Living With RSI

Do you ever suffer from an intense desire to write, only to sit down and draw a complete blank? It's highly annoying. I have always viewed it as a sign of boredom.

My Father once told me that intelligent and/or creative people never get bored... but I personally I wonder....

Logic dictates that an intelligent/creative person would never be bored for they would have the capacity to always think of something to do. However, the reality is that any human being suffering from depression, or just plain not feeling well can become bored due to lack of ambition.

Again logic steps in and says "But that's the main cause of boredom in the first place!" Reality responds with "So?" and an evil grin ( that makes you wonder why you began thinking about it in the first place ) "That only proves that anyone can become afflicted, right?"

Unfortunately, it stands to reason that once the mind has begun to argue both points of the arguement it is no longer bored but in fact deeply involved in activity and thus Logic would win the arguement.

But since not many people actually argue with themselves ( like I often do )...the majority of the population does indeed fall victim to the affliction on a regular basis. So I would argue that most intelligent/creative people never STAY bored...at least not for long.

I have been ill all day, seems I have finally caught the flu that everyone else has already had.

Spending all day in bed tends to leave one very disoriented. Still I got so much needed work done on the computer this morning while I still felt reasonable.

Well I finally managed to add a framed version of this site. I admit, it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be when I first began learning to do it. ( Copy and Paste is a wonderful thing!! )

This was not what I had intended to be working on but necessity is the Mother of invention isn't it?

I'm still working on a "Choose Your Own Adventure" story called "The Labyrinth". I hope to have the story (written on paper) completed by the end of this month. Then it's simply firing up FrontPage Express and creating the pages to go with it. Keep checking here for updates!!!

Ahhhh...long time no write. Have been down sick yet again with yet another cold. That is the second time in a month. I had four days peace..... >sigh<

Some news on the Homefront....my daughter has had to be put on anti-depressants again. The side effect of which is that she passes out around 8:30 every night. >BAEG
