Two more Auroras....
Posted by MD on October 19, 2002 at 00:02:07:
Talk of strong reaction to fear, not spoiled. We're safe.
[scroll removed]
We're aware of at least two more Auroras who've come out in situations where her fear becomes
extreme, and she's not able to trigger the rest of us as Aurora13. These two additional
Auroras are both 6 1/2, the age when she first came into being. We're not sure if these two
were one Aurora at any point, but they're distinct now, and have appeared inside at the same
time. As with the teenage Auroras, they're not visible to outsiders.
We call one of them The Screamer; the other one, for lack of a more concrete name, we call
Despair. Despair has urges we won't go into here, although she's never put our safety at
risk.
As we told our T the other day, Aurora lives at a very high decibel level, even when she's
silent. But in the past few weeks it's been harder to keep a rein on her intensity, and we
feel like we're entering a whole new realm of....something. It kind of has a "Star
Trek" feel to it: "where no multiple has gone before." And our Prime Directive
on this mission is to not cause Aurora further harm, or let her cause further harm
either.
Sigh.

Re: well, it might....

Well, the girl whose name we know hasn't objected to the fact that we know
it. So we don't believe it's an issue for her.
As for treating them like individuals....we agree. We've always hated to see twins that are
made to dress alike, or have very similar names. In fact, when we were teaching fourth grade
at the "Sunday place" several years ago, we had identical twins in our class and
asked their folks at the beginning of the year to please see that they dressed differently on
the day they had class. Ostensibly, it made it easier to tell them apart, even though we had
other ways of doing so as time went on. But the clone thing doesn't sit well with us.
Anyway, despite our firm belief in individuality, we don't want to show favoritism either.
It's not so much that they're twins; we'd feel the same if they were two kids of different
ages. We think. :-/
Last night as we were trying to fall asleep, we thought of another name that sounded perfect.
But then in the morning we didn't feel right about that name either. We have to be patient,
and that's not easy.
Thanks,
[MD]

[...]The unnamed twin is simply angry. We believe she doesn't know how to communicate this
anger, or communicate in general. Which is why we attribute to her some of the behaviors we
won't mention here.
Thanks for the support.
