We have to....

....differentiate among ours somehow, so we don't drive ourselves dippy. So far there's Aurora13, Aurora16, Aurora17, and a couple of others we'd have to explain about very carefully. We haven't figured out how to do that.

But they're all Aurora. One at a time.

Thanks,

Modified population count....39-plus?

We've been debating for several days how to go about making the latest update on our group headcount. An accurate explanation would be long and covoluted, and we didn't want that, so we'll try our best to keep it simple.

A number of folks here have read our threads on the Aurora issue and know that she's "more than one." We're at a loss as to how to incorporate her plurality into our total population count, a detail that's important to us. At the same time, we've had an issue come up with a different member of the group, relating indirectly to Aurora and her story.

We've spoken occasionally of Dare, whom we first acknowledged as a female teen, later as a formless "teenlike" being, and later as a formless being representing shades of gray in our daily experience. Dare supposedly had split off from NORULE! [GIDEON], merged with Aurora, and then split from her to guard our perimeter.

Thing is, we never saw Dare or dealt with Dare directly. It would always be a case of something happening and then us later saying, "Oh, that must have been Dare." We wondered all along why we couldn't see or get to know Dare. At one point NORULE! told us we weren't supposed to do this, because it would interfere with the way Dare worked. So we let the issue stand. Then when the Aurora stuff came up recently, and several Auroras became clearly visible as such, we realized something. The Aurora we now know as Aurora17--brusque, defiant, resistant, secretive, controlling--is the same person we thought was Aurora and Dare together. But she wasn't Aurora and Dare; she was Aurora17, a part of Aurora. Which led us to wonder: Did Dare really exist? Did Dare *ever* exist? If not, why would NORULE! make Dare up?

Well, NORULE! didn't make Dare up, but looking back, *we* did, through supposition. NORULE! just capitalized on our assumptions and used them to prevent us from seeing all the Auroras. At least that's how it seems now. So we're not a group of 40. But with the Auroras, we're not a group of 39 either. So we guess we'll leave it at 39-plus, until something else changes.

Right now we feel kind of gullible and betrayed for allowing NORULE! to fool us as he did. We feel foolish and st*pid. Yeah, we know none of that is true, but it feels that way.

MD, population....39-plus :-/
