Glen's Grandfather and Grandmother - Fathers Side

Frederick (Fred) E. WILSON *

Frederick was born on 7 December 1859 in New York [believed Kuckville, Orleans County].. He died on 1 August 1934, just a few weeks after his wife Lottie, and was buried beside her in the Carlton Cemetery, Orleans County, New York... On the 1900 Federal Census, Fred is listed as Postmaster of the Town of Carlton (actually the Village of Kuckville which was part of Carlton Township)... He married Lottie D. FULLER on 24 January 1889 in (?) New York... In 1900, Fred and Lottie obtained two parcels from his mother, Susan A. Wilson, on the main street of Kuckville... One parcel included a house and was situated accross the street from his parents house... Locations of these parcels are clearly evident on Orleans County maps of 1900... In 1913 they obtained Lots 1 & 3 (77.25 acres per lot), at the corner of Lakeside and Fuller roads (Section 9, TWP 16, Range 2)... These lots were granted by her mother, Abbie R. Fuller (Land Records, Book 149, page 303/304)... Lot 3, on the west side of Fuller and south side of Lakeside roads, included a house and barn and the whole parcel became the Wilson Farm... On the corner of Lot 3, SW corner of the crossroads, stood a School house... The remains of the school house was still standing in June 1993, when this researcher visited the area... It has since been torn down and a family residence built on the site.
