The Hive Ward

Our Lady

This is not a place for craftsmen, merchants, jeweler or art dealer; instead, it's home to muggers, bubbers, gamblers, any sort of criminals and all sods who live at margins: for many people of the Hive life is very hard and full of despair, with death waiting at the end.
The Hive Ward is a collection of slums and battered tenements more fit for vermin than humanoids. The air is almost unbreathable because the terrible stink, the streets are dotted of mud puddles and rain often collects in brackish pools that sometimes have the size of small lakes; these pools are used by the Hivers as trash pails. An advice, beware the ooze puddle!
Because the lack of space, that it's distinctive of this ward, everywhere new structures are built on top of old ones, giving the buildings the appearance of a stack of boxes about to collapse.
The best section of the ward is the Marble District, that takes name from the cluster of marble buildings spikeward from the Gatehouse, the Bleak Cabal's headquarters. In these area it's possible to find some quality shops. On the opposite end, lies the Slags, perhaps the worst section of the Hive: here darkness and death rule.
Newcomers always think they have wandered into a nightmare. The inhabitants of the rest of Sigil keep a fair distance from the Hive.

Whisper Way is the Hive's biggest and most heavily traveled street; here is quite less easy for a cutter to be robbed or...
In the middle of Laughing Cat Alley, a fallen archway was a portal leading to Baator, but now it's knocked down.
Cheap alehouses fill Stump Street. Most Hive taverns are rat holes, distinguishable only by their names. But some of them, however, stand out: the Snapped Finger is known for its nightly fights; any kind of criminals favor the Butcher's Block, an alehouse operated by an aged ogre, Trunfeld Three-teeth. If you are searching for information ask to him, but prepare the jinks. Then there is the Zero, a Bleaker's tavern of choice, but if you are a thirsty berk don't go there, find a kip that don't cater to Bleakers.
In the Hive Ward, also the Dustmen and the Xaositects have their headquarters at the Mortuary and in the Hive (a small area of the ward so called by the Chaosmen).
