Here you'll
find information regarding cat breeder Prue Kerr's Burmese and Burmilla pedigree cats. In 1970, when my husband and I were still living in Northern Ireland, we bought our first pedigree cat, a Siamese, whom we
called Chloe. We decided to let her have one litter of kittens before having her spayed.....! Although
Chloe was soon spayed, we took the decision to buy a Burmese as a companion for her, and to try this time,
to find a kitten with what we hoped would be an impeccable pedigree, as we had so enjoyed the experience of raising Chloes family.

Almost by chance we were offered a little female called SAGE GOLDLIGHT,
whose father was Ch Peerless Sukova; we didnt realise just how lucky we had been until,
having been persuaded to show her, Goldie won Best of Breed at her first attempt, and ours!
We lived in Northern Ireland, which at that time had no Championship shows, so there were
few opportunities to show her, so she never gained a title, but she was the founder of the
GRAINOGE Burmese. We have never kept more than two of three breeding females at a time, but all our Burmese since that time can trace their pedigrees back to Goldie.

At just about this time Chocolate (champagne)
and Lilac (platinum) Burmese were becoming available in the UK, and I decided to buy a chocolate mate for
Goldie, as it was otherwise quite difficult to find an outcross for her. MIBUYA APOLLO thus became the
first chocolate Burmese in Ireland. By the late 1970s I had been bitten by the show bug, crossing to the UK
mainland fairly regularly in an attempt to make up my first champion. CH GRAINOGE BLUE ISLA was born in 1980.
