Maggie immigrated with her parents in about 1865 and married her
first cousin from Iowa, James Gilchrist. She remarried shortly after his death.
It wasn't easy to figure out this marriage of first cousins,
but it has been possible through several census records and a
mention here and there in other relatives' obituaries, for instance
Maggie's brother John.
