This page contains information on Babylon 5 characters and developments that occurred during seasons 3 and 4, Thirdspace and Crusade. Capt. JOHN SHERIDAN - Delenn presents Sheridan with the White Star, a new ship based on Minbari and Vorlon technology to be used in the coming war. The White Star is used in missions against the Shadows and is able to hold its own against them. After removing the Night Watch from the station, Sheridan and the others declare Babylon 5 independent and hold off an attack from Earth. Sheridan was then free to mobilize the other worlds into an army of light against the Shadows. After his wife Anna returns, and learning what the Shadows did to her, Sheridan goes to Z'ha'dum and destroys their greatest city causing the Shadows to pull back in their war. But this act cost Sheridan his life. After being revived by the ancient being Lorien, Sheridan returned to Babylon 5 to lead one last strike against the Shadows and the Vorlons. After the conclusion of the Shadow War Sheridan is forced to turn his attention back towards Earth. He began to organize ships to turn against Clark's forces and began the long struggle to liberate Earth. After the war is won and Earth is once again free from President Clark and the Night Watch, Sheridan is made leader of an Interstellar Alliance. He also marries Delenn. AMBASSADOR DELENN - Having passed the Vorlon tests Delenn introduces Sheridan to the Rangers. Returning to the Minbari cruiser she breaks the Grey Council and leads a group of Minbari ships to help Sheridan make Babylon 5 an independent station. She later assisted in taking the Babylon 4 station back through time. After Sheridan returns from Z'ha'dum she helps him in the final battle against the Shadows and the Vorlons. After the war she returned to Minbar to try to restore the damage done and reforms the Grey Council. She and Sheridan are eventually married and work to form the Interstellar Alliance. SECURITY CHIEF MICHAEL GARIBALDI - Garibaldi also had to contend with the growing influence of the Night Watch. As even many of his own security people were members of that organization it made it difficult for him to be part of the conspiracy of light. After Sheridan made Babylon 5 an independent station many of Garibaldi's security officers were replace with Narns and the Night Watch members were sent back to Earth. Garibaldi disappeared during a Shadow attack only to be recovered two weeks later with no explanation of where he'd been taken. After the Shadow War Garibaldi resigned as head of security and became an independent investigator. He became a vocal critic of Sheridan's leadership and disagreed with the war to free Earth. This led him to work for William Edgars company and eventually help rescue Sheridan from prison. Comm. SUSAN IVANOVA - As Sheridan and his army of light prepared for the coming conflict with the Shadows Ivanova and the Ranger Marcus Cole set out to contact the remaining First Ones. She assisted Sheridan in breaking Babylon 5 away from Earth control and setting it up as an independent station. In 2261 Ivanova took command of Babylon 5 when Sheridan went missing for two weeks after he went to Z'ha'dum. Upon his return she returned to the task of contacting the First Ones and participated in the battle against the Shadows and the Vorlons. After the Shadow War she took control of the fleet as they fought to free earth from President Clark. She was badly wounded in battle after which she left Babylon 5 to take command of a prototype Warlock-class destroyer. CITIZEN G'KAR - After taking dust, a drug that enhances telepathic ability, G'Kar has a revelation that his people must sacrifice themselves for the greater good. He begins writing what he has learned down and continues his transformation to better himself. He offers his services to the army of light and the services of his people to protect the station. G'Kar is captured by the Centauri and taken before the Emperor. There he strikes a bargain with Londo in order to save the Narn. As a prisoner of Centauri Emperor Cartagia G'Kar undergoes tortures including the loss of his eye. After the Narn become free again G'Kar is offered the position of ruler which he declines. He accepts an offer from Londo to organize the League of Non Aligned Worlds to help Sheridan free Earth. DR. STEPHEN FRANKLIN - As the war between the Narn and Centauri escalates Franklin and his staff are overwhelmed by casualties. He begins using stims in order to work longer hours and gradually becomes addicted to them. His addiction eventually gets to the point where he decides it's best to resign his position until he can get things straightened out. He begins his 'walkabout' through the station which leads him to getting stabbed by criminals and nearly dying. That near death experience and coming face-to-face with himself brings him back to his job and he returns to the MedLab. After Sheridan returns from Z'ha'dum Franklin discovers that Sheridan has biochemical energy in his system that he can't explain. He also treats Garibalsi who is recovered after having disappeared for two weeks. After Earth blockades Babylon 5, Franklin and Marcus go on a mission to contact the Mars resistance. This becomes important later as Sheridan's fleet returns to the solar system and must go up against President Clark's fleet. AMBASSADOR LONDO MOLLARI - As Londo becomes more uneasy about Mr. Morden and his associates he begins severing his ties to Morden and the Shadows. As Morden begins using others within the Centauri as influence, Londo goes to great lenghts to block the Shadows from manipulating his people. A tragedy finally pulls Londo back, renewing his alliance with the Shadows. Eventually he is able to get his revenge on Lord Reefa and is promoted and returns to Centauri Prime. Back on Centauri Prime, Londo enters a new position in the court of the madman Emperor Cartagia. Uncovering Cartagia's deal with the Shadows and his future plans for Centauri Prime, Londo plots with G'Kar and Vir to assassinate the Emperor. With the death of Cartagia and the end of the Shadow War, Londo returns to Babylon 5 until things can settle down on Centauri Prime. As Sheridan begins his task of returning to free Earth, Londo works with G'Kar to convince the Non-Aligned Worlds to support Sheridan. LENNIER - With the introduction of the new White Star, Lennier becomes more involved in the missions by helping to pilot the White Star in combat. He serves onboard the main White Star during missions to search for Sheridan on Z'ha'dum, the final battle at Coriana 6 and the encounter with the Drakh. He saved an entire Minbari cruiser from being poisoned by fanatics and stood with Delenn as she challenged the Warrior Caste in the war on Minbar. AMBASSADOR JEFFREY SINCLAIR - Sinclair remained on Minbar as the head of the Rangers there. He served in training the Rangers, like Marcus and to prepare them for the Shadow War. After receiving a strange message, he returned to Babylon 5 to accompany Sheridan, Delenn and Ivanova on a mission through time to steal the Babylon 4 station so that it can be used as a base in the previous war against the Shadows 1000 years before. VIR COTTO - During an encounter with the former Emperor's third wife Vir is told that not only Londo, but also he himself would eventually become Emperor. Later Vir could get into serious trouble when it's learned that he arranged the transfer of thousands of Narns. He becomes a pawn in a plot by Londo to take revenge against Lord Reefa. Londo recalls Vor to Centauri Prime to help him plot the death of the mad Emperor. Vir is reluctant but later is forced to take matters into his own hands literally when he himself assassinates the Emperor. LYTA ALEXANDER - After journeying to the Vorlon homeworld where she was altered and her telepathic abilities enhanced, Lyta returned to Babylon 5. As an aide to Ambassador Kosh Lyta was able to help him and Sheridan in their efforts against the Shadows. After the death of Kosh and the arrival of his replacement Lyta began to be treated more harshly by the new Vorlon Ambassador. After Sheridan went to Z'ha'dum, Lyta joined Delenn and Ivanova on a mission to see if he was still alive. She also attempted to scan the new Vorlon Ambassador to learn of their new plans against the Shadows. She helped set up the Vorlon, who was killed, to allow Sheridan's forces to end the Shadow War once and for all. She receives an unusual offer from Bester and later helps Franklin make contact with the frozen telepaths. She plays a pivotal role in the civil war to free Earth from the control of President Clark. TALIA WINTERS - The whereabouts of Talia Winters is unknown. Bester implied that she had been subjected to a dissection. Whether this is true or not is unknown. NA'TOTH - After the bombing of the Narn homeworld, Na'Toth was taken prisoner by the Centauri and placed in a cell in the palace. She remained in that cell forgotten even after the death of the Emperor. ALFRED BESTER - Bester came again to Babylon 5 to discover the trafficking of the telepathically enhancing drug called dust, to alien species. Bester was forced to take sleeper drugs in order to protect the conspiring officers with the B5 command structure from being uncovered. He later returned after having learned of the Shadows involvement with the Psi Corps. He assisted Sheridan in capturing a shipment of telepaths that were intended to be used in the Shadow Ships. One of the telepaths, who are later placed in cryogenic units, was his lover. After the end of the Shadow War Bester warns Babylon 5 of a coming campaign of disinformation by the Clark administration. As part of a pact with Sheridan he allows a group of his own Black Omega Squadron fighters to be destroyed. In return he will accompany Sheridan back to Z'ha'dum to search for Shadow technology that will restore the frozen telepaths. He returns yet again later with an offer for Lyta to return to the Psi Corps.
