I Need You
I need you, Lord more than anything there has ever been,
To love, to hold, to comfort, to clean my sin.
I'll love you forever but not with great ease
I just have to remember what chains your love frees.
Troubles surround me everywhere I look
But when I am frail I pick up Your book.
Lord, this helps me more than words can state-
It makes me free and ensures my fate.
I want your love and everything that you will offer-
Some trust, some faith, some hope, some of the Father.
But nothing you give can save my soul unless I chose
To put my trust in You and forget what I lose.
Please forgive me, Lord, for the wrongs unto you I have done,
For what I will do and for what now is gone.
I need this, Lord, or I fear that I will lose
The race in behalf of the pure choice that I did choose.
Troubles surround me everywhere I look
But when I am frail I pick up Your book.
Lord, this helps me more than words can state-
It makes me free and ensures my fate…
