"Sacred Dreams"

Sacrificing sacred dreams

Upon an alter of pain

Shaking from this misery

Flowing through my veins

Darkness surrounds me

Blinding my searching eyes

All voices here are screams

And all words spoken lies

From deep within my tortured soul

I crave this strange mystery

The horror spun nightmare

That dances endlessly around me

Alluring is the forbidden nature

Of this wicked game we play

Twisted origins for a twisted world

Until twisted thoughts I speak today

Dragon fire upon my breath

Wingless fairies

I hear their screams

And I wonder what have I become

What have I done to my dreams

I blame the voices of the blind

Condemning hope as insanity

The blood of my dreams upon their hands

For disillusioning me

Judging my shattered soul

These blind faces stare back at me

I hide my innocence from their eyes

And their ridiculous scrutiny

My dreams shine as stars

In a sky of faith and fantasy

And I know the world cannot destroy

These visions which my heart can see

I promise myself I won't be a prisoner

To the pain they claim for me

In my heart starry nights can overcome storms

If the stars shine bright enough to see
