Out-of-Town Guest Information (That would be everybody)

Since we don't expect to invite any Key West locals to the wedding everyone will be Out-of-Town Guests, so-- here is a little info to help you plan your trip:

Getting there:

Driving
- The drive is very long from Colorado, Indiana or SoCal.  As you may or may not know, Key West is the southernmost point in the continental United States---if you drive, take lots of snacks and have fun!

Flying -
Key West has its own airport (EYW) which you can fly in and out of.  The cost of flying there is about $100 to $300 more expensive than flying into Miami (MIA) or Fort Lauderdale (FLL).  If you fly into Miami or Fort Lauderdale you will need to drive south to Key West.  The drive takes about 4 hours.

If you do fly into Miami or Fort Lauderdale or drive the whole way, it is a very pretty drive as you are cross over a countless number of bridges that connect the Florida Keys.  If you get road rage easily, you might want someone else to drive as most of the drive to Key West is only 2 lanes.

Shuttle from Airport to Key West - If you are looking for a shuttle from the Miami airport to Key West so that you don't have to rent a car, there is one via TransFloridian www.transfloridian.com.  It is actually supposed to be very nice too.  Here is a brief description of their service: Seats aboard these motorcoaches are comparable to seats is Business Class of an airplane.  They include such amenities as armrests, footrests, tray tables, as well as full on-board meal and beverage service.  The cost to get to Key West from Miami airport on TransFloridian is $88.50 roundtrip or $59.00 one-way (for those of you planning to not come back.)  The shuttles leaves MIA and Key West 3 times per day for you convenience.
They also offer service from Ft. Lauderdale for $103.50 roundtrip or $69.00 one-way.

By Boat - There is another option if you would like to fly or drive to Fort Myers and then take a high speed boat down to Key West from Fort Myers and Naples, Florida.  The boat takes about 3.5 hours.  The boat leaves Ft. Myers and San Marco Island at 9 AM daily and arrives in Key West at 12:30 PM.  The return trip leaves Key West at 5:30 and 6 PM nightly and arrives between 9 and 9:30 PM.  It costs about $120 per adult, but you can get discounts if you purchase your tickets more than 48 hours in advance.  The website to check out for this is http://www.seakeywestexpress.com
