BATTLE ASSESSMENT:
     By the Earth year 2338, the Necris ruling body had already mounted two failed full scale invasions of the planet Earth. However, the planet was perfectly suited for a much needed Necris base in the Sol System. Spurred on by a military victory in 2342 against the little known aliens The Voran for the Voran homeworld, The Grand Thane of the Necris Military sanctioned a covert operatiom to gain control of the planet. To this end, " The Ides Of March" were formed. A team of two veteran Necris soldiers, one rising star in the Necris military and one ex criminal turned crack pilot (for individual profiles, see below), they were sent to Earth with a top secret mission: Destroy an NEG installation in Mexico and assassinate the vice president of the NEG. Then get caught, surrender, enter the Earth tournaments and win at all costs. It was hoped that a victory would allow them to gain influence at the top of the NEG and Liandri Corp, and prepare for a final full force assault. They were sent in 2343, and accomplished the first part of their mission easily. Whether they will win the tournaments has yet to be seen.

LOKI - PERSONAL PROFILE

Named after the Earth Norse god of mischief able to change his shape at will, Loki entered the Necris military and exelled in every class at the training outposts. He was put forward for the Black Blades, the Necris equivalent to the SAS. It was found he was an exellent deep cover agent, and was sent  to Earth on numerous occasions to undermine the NEG when the first Necris invasions of Earth were in force. His most famous incarnation lives on in Earth history. In 2287 he went to Greens world, posing as miner Boris Koromaz. After working there for 3 years, he helped Kyla Redfield to co-ordinate the biggest miners riot in the history of the universe in 2290. After massive NEG and miner losses, Boris was presumed dead in battle and Loki returned home. His excellent deep cover skills and leadership qualities made him first chocie for The Ides Of March mission.

MACABRE - PERSONAL PROFILE

Macabre is a munnitions exert and an excellent sniper. He was in the Necris military, and rose through the ranks to become the captain of a land troop unit. Sent to an unknown planet to scout for possible mining opportunities, Macabre's unit found a massive Skaarj colony situated on the planet. A bloody battle ensued, with 210,000 Skaarj warriors and scouts against 7,000 Necris warriors. Most of the Necris troop were killed, and only 217 soldiers made it back. This was the beginning of the Nercris / Skaarj campaign for Solten IV. Eventually all the Skaarj were wiped out over the course of the year long campaign, and Macabre killed the last Skaarj on the planet as he had killed the first : Laser Knife to the throat. His ruthless streak and hand to hand combat experience also put him straight onto this mission.

HAVOC - PERSONAL PROFILE

Havoc is a comparatively young Necris at only 106. He recently flew throught the fast track at the Necris training outposts, and was also put forward for the Black Blades. However, his speciality proved to be explosives and demolition. His appetite for destruction seemingly knows no bounds. On his training mission on the deserted planet of Glandos, he destroyed the enemy team's base within the first day of the two week exercise. He was put up in front of a Thane council for having killed 20 other soldiers who were on the enemy team and in their base at the time of the attack. He was cleared of all responsibilty, and even promoted for his resourcefulness and speed. He has only been on one off-world mission so far in his career, in the Voran wars. His strategic bombings of their leader's palace and their government's meeting place made the war much easier for the soldiers of the land troops. He was called a possible liabilty, but his resourcefulness and lust for death placed him onto the mission.

THORN - PERSONAL PROFILE

Thorn, the final member of the team, did not go to the military academy. He was an orphan, and lived on the streets for decades. During this time, he became involved in Razor Skimming, an illegal race in small spacecraft that travelled through space and through heavily populated major cities. He became an expert pilot, and beat many competitors in the process, but was eventually caught. Faced with a choice of death or a military commission, he chose the latter. He was trained and has become a top pilot in StrikeHawks, one man fighter craft used for interstellar dogfights. In the recent Voran campaign, he shot down over 200 Voran ships of various nature. His quick wittedness and all round skills gave him the final place on the Ides of March mission.
