Unreal Tournament

Current update: UTPatch V428

Introduction
Unreal Tournament is a Quake III beating 1st person shooter that has been designed to recreate the thrill of online gaming for one player, it does this easily with its advanced artificial intelligence which simulates playing against devious human opponents. The new modes of play include Capture the Flag, Team Death Match, Last Man Standing, Domination, and  Assault, where players have to defend or attack a fortress.  UT also includes 35 brand new arenas, all newly designed weapons and numerous scenarios to increase replay value.  Unreal Tournament is a perfect game for polishing your first person shooter powers.

Unreal Tournament's Single Player Game
Set in the year 2341, Unreal Tournament's single player game casts the player as a legendary fighter about to take part in Liandri Mining corporation's grand Tournament. All of the Tournament matches are televised across the universe so it means big money, all the fights you come across are intense, brutal and very deadly. As the player wins a match, they advance up a ladder facing off against increasingly more skilled and experienced opponents at arenas throughout the galaxy and in games such as DeathMatch, Capture the Flag, Assault and Domination. If the player manages to get all the way to the top of the ladder they face the Tournament Champion himself, the mysterious Xan Kriegor.

The Game Types:

Tournament Death Match / Team Death Match
Return to the Deck!
The aim of this mode of play is to be the first to reach the target amount of kills, or frags. Every time you frag someone you are given one point towards the target amount, but if you lose a life you lose a point. Unreal Tournament contains over twenty deathmatch maps, which range from dark age castles to space stations orbiting the earth. Team Death Match is the same as Tournament death match except you play on a team, you score for your team by fraging the opposing team's players. Both modes are playable online or with bots.

Last Man Standing
In this mode all players start out with all weapons, locked and loaded. The aim of this mode is to be the last man standing, you must frag everyone else to win the match. You can play Last Man Standing on any Tournament deathmatch map, the differences between Last Man Standing and Deathmatch are: Doesn't count frags,  counts down how many times you were fragged, when you've died a certain number of times, you become a spectator, you   spawn with all the weapons, with the exception of the redeemer,  you spawn with given amount of health and armor depending on the map e.g DM-Morpheus you get 100 health and 180 armor, and all items are removed from the game.

Capture the Flag (CTF)
This level is sweet
This is my favorite mode of play because I just love sniping on Facing worlds. Capture the flag puts two teams against each other in a race to be the first to capture the other teams flag and returning it to your own base, the first team to capture the enemy's flag the target amount of times wins the match. You can order people or bots to defend your flag, attack/capture the enemy's flag , or even cover you when you have the flag.
One feature which CTF and Domination sports is the translocator, with this item you can teleport to where you fire the beacon. It can also be used as a weapon, if you fire it at someone and press alt fire they get "telefragged". The only draw back to this weapons is that if you use while you're carrying the flag , you lose the flag. The CTF levels range from fortresses orbiting around the earth with low gravity, to ancient castles and futuristic military complexes.

Domination
crytic
The object of this mode is to gain control of certain points on the map, and keep control of them to get points. The team with the most points wins the match . The scoring system is pretty simple. The more control points you dominate, the more points your team gets, for example if control three control points at the same time, your teams score increases three times as fast as controlling just one. The maps range from a aniciet middle eastern temple to high tech complexes and urban cityscapes. Bots are very good at Domination and can play better than most humans, when I've played with bots they've won for me.

Assault
highspeed.unr
This mode consists of two teams, one on defense and the other on the offense. The defending team has to take complete the objective's set at the beginning of the match before the set amount of time has elapsed. Once the objectives of the defending team have been meet the match is resarted with teams switching roles (defender to offence and vise versa). If your team accomplishes an objective in less time than is needed, the opposing team must then accomplish the same task in less time or lose the match. The levels in this mode are outstanding, they range from a speeding bullet train to a D-Day landing on a beach-head. Very impressive.

Life after Unreal Tournament
