How Green Goals and
Libertarian Principles Intersect
Most people share many of the goals of the Greens. After all,
it's hard not to favor things like nonviolence, respect, responsibility,
sustainability, and so on. The main differences between people's view on these
goals center around how far to go to pursue them, and by what means to do so.
Most people also share many of the principles of Libertarians.
After all, it's hard not to favor things like freedom, voluntary and honest
interaction, and responsible self-government. But many people fear that the
strict philosophical nature of Libertarianism, if put into practice, would
result in the abandonment of some of the most honorable of the Green goals we
all share.
At GreenLiberty.org, we believe that this is a misconception.
In fact, we believe that it is Libertarianism's strict philosophical basis which
makes it the soundest approach to reaching our common goals.
