A Brief History of the Cherry Blossom Alumnae Colony
In the summer of 2003, there was an interest in reactivating the Washington D.C. Alumnae Chapter of Gamma Sigma Sigma with the purpose of allowing alum of Gamma Sig that lived in Virginia, Washington D.C., and Maryland to come together and once again serve as a group. After holding an informational meeting on September 28, 2003 in Washington, D.C., the group petitioned for reactivation from the national organization. The Washington D.C. Alumnae Chapter was reactiviated by Nationals as a colony with the new name "Cherry Blossom" on November 14, 2003 with eight members:

- Kristy (Enz) Castonguay - Gamma Delta - Vice President of Service
- Ann Pulley - Beta Phi - Vice President of Membership
- Megan Woolheater - Delta Chi - Secretary
- Tracy Carr - Delta Chi - Parliamentarian
- Randi Fenichel - Beta Gamma - Member-at-Large
- Melissa (Hinkle) Pikul - Delta Chi -Member-at-Large
- Phyllis Spiece - Beta Phi - Member-at-Large
The purpose of the Cherry Blossoms Alumnae Colony is to assemble alumni of Gamma Sigma Sigma National Service Sorority in the spirit of service. This colony shall be conducted as a service organization under the provisions of the Bylaws of Gamma Sigma Sigma National Service Sorority.
