Daisy's journal from her trip to England was filled with fantastic pictures of Daisy and the girls she was visiting. She came home with all sorts of goodies including different things the girls worked on while she was visiting.

I arrived at Snowy Owl's house today. A postman in a big red van brought me here. Snowy Owl and Brown Owl opened my box and greeted me with big smile. I climbed out; the weather was cold but dry. Snowy Owl settled me down for a rest to recover from my long journey.

I went to my first Brownie meeting today. 27 brownies all dressed in yellow and brown. The Rabbit six looked after me tonight. At the start of the meeting we lined up and sang our six songs and skipped into a circle. The Sixer, the leader of each group took the subs up to Little Owl. We sand the Brownie song and then sat down for a pow wowl Brown Owl then shoed the Brownies all the things I had brought over with me, the girls were very excited and loved everything. We told the girls that Lilybet had arrived safely in America and they were all very relieved. Katie, one of the Young Leaders, helped Brown Owl show the things I had brought. Member of Rabbit Six took turns in looking after me all evening. We then were given strips of Christmas Paper to make paper chains. When we had a chain of 24 we went to the tables in our six corners and made a large star and drew a happy face and wrote a poem, "Star Bright, Star Light how many days til Santa's Flight." We then attached the chain to the star and we had an Advent star chain. Brown Owl then gave us 5 sweets to attach to chains so we have them before Christmas, the last sweet is for Christmas Eve. They were all really colourful, Holly ran around with hers like a shooting star.
We finished the evening by learning a Christmas song to sing in Church on December 12 at Church parade.
Brownies always finish with a prayer; chosen and read by a different six each week and we san Brownie Bells.

I have had a quiet week, getting used to where I am, helping Snowy Owl prepare things for Brownies, such as counting out beads for tonight's craft.
At Brownies tonight we started the same as last week with singing our six songs and the Brownie song, tonight I was with the Badgers, The Young Leaders then taught us a game from another country as part of a badge we are doing.
Then we went into groups to make the lovely Christmas star. We had to wrap pipe cleaners around a daisy bead, then post on round beads, and then long beads and finally more round beads. It was quite fiddly but we managed it.

What an exciting day, Snowy Owl and her brother took me with them to LONDON on a train to see a concert of the Canadian Group, the Barenaked Ladies at the Shepherd's Bush Empire. We went to the Railway Station in Nottingham to catch the train to St. Pancreas in London. The journey took nearly two hours.
Then we walked to King's Cross Station to get the underground to Shepard's Bush. We walked to the Theatre to collect our tickets before going to a shopping centre to get some thing to eat and drink. We went in a McDonald's Then we had to go and queue to get into the Theatre. There was a support act first which was funny and then the group came on, it was all very Christmassy and atmospheric.
( a brochure in the real journal talks about how the King's Crossing Station that they took Daisy to is the real home of the magical "Platform 9 3/4" where the young wizards and witches board Hogwarts Express)
It finished just before 10:45pm and then we had to get the underground back to St. Pancras to get the last train home to Nottingham. Thankfully we made it. We arrived back at Snowy's house at 2:30 am in the morning. Wow! We slept in today Saturday 4th.
This afternoon Brown Owl took me to the Guide shop in Carlton, about 15 minutes drive away. We had to buy some certificates and badges. Then we went to a garden centre to look at the Christmas gifts, it was lovely and Santa Claus was there.
It was good to be home again for another snooze.
PARTS NOT INCLUDED BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE THE TIME TO TYPE ALL OF IT.

Christmas Eve Margaret cam in the afternoon, she used to be Rainbow Owl and was a Ranger Guide with Brown Owl many, many years ago. Brenda, a neighbour also came across and we went to a 'drop in' Communion Service at the Methodist Church in Arnold Town Centre. It is a big round Church in the Market Place I sat and watched as people came and went and Brown Owl sat reading some poems and reflections. We left after they had all been up for communion. All the shops were closed and the Christmas Lights shone out, very peaceful and Christmassy.

Christmas Day has arrived and we are all very excited, I had a present under the Christmas tree. It was in a lovely gift bag and when I opened it I got a whistle with a floating Robin Hood in it. We had a super turkey for Christmas dinner with all the trimmings and in the evening we went down to Little Owl's home for a drink and snacks and more present opening. I went home very happy, very tired, thinking about you all back home.

Happy New Year everybody and here I am in England. The week has been a mixture of cold, frost and sunshine. I went to the Sales one day; we went to a Retail Park called the Riverside near the River Trent. I went in a shop called Boots, which is a big Nottingham shop where years ago it the 'THE'Chemist. I went in a big clothes shop called Next, also a do- it- yourself shop called B and Q before going into another retail park near Derbyshire where we went in IKEA again, where there was lots of furniture, kitchen ware, pictures, rugs and Christmas decorations, very big and tiring.
It has been a bit of a chilling out week, watching a lot of comedy on TV. A bit homesick today but I have had lots of cuddles from family and friends. At midnight I saw lots of beautiful fireworks lighting the skies, Snowy and I watched from her bedroom window. We are resting today.
A TON MORE THAT I DON'T HAVE TIME TO TYPE
February 25th 2005
I have been for a last drive around the local area. I went to Bestwood Country Park. It was bitterly could, there were a lot of flowers and trees and the Park is part of Sherwood Forest, famous for the Robin Hood Legend. In July the Brownies painted a milepost there as part of a nationwide competition, it is on a national bike track. The Brownies had to paint according to the area. There is also a discussed coal mine there so they had put little miner's heads at the bottom then yellow like a light shining upwards into the forest of flowers and trees
There are Forest Rangers who do various activities with in the Park. They take guided walked, bat watches, bird watching and many other activities throughout the year.
It was too cold to stay long. So it was home to pack my things into my box, I'll be leaving soon.
Sad and Happy at the same time. Night, Night England.
There were other journal entries from other mascots and troops visited and I hope to get more of them put on this page.
