As third year Seniors we were BUSY!
But we still made time for scouts....
with a major emphasis on service!
September:
Planning for our Gold Award projects --  the ultimate service activity!
October:
Midlothian Day Parade -- Senior Girls show scouting is still COOL!
November:
Camp Hat Creek - Trash pickup, high ropes, canoes.
December:
Salvation Angel Tree & Celebration!
February:
Definitely a month of service -- Valentines for Veterans, Pennies from Heaven and Goodie bags for Camp Hope.
Since it was our last year of scouts we decided to participate in the Midlothian Days Parade with our service unit.
We chose two teenage girls from the angel tree at the local mall. With some serious bargain shopping we were able to give them what they wished for plus a little extra. The following week we had our traditional Christmas party -- pot lock, gift exchange, craft & laughter.
We work hard...play hard...& sleep hard!
This was the third year we helped Pennies from Heaven by making bag breakfasts to be distributed to the homeless. Camp Hope is a camp for children who have lost a parent and helps them learn to deal with their grief.
March:
Time for some serious work: Cookie sale, complete Conflict Resolution interest patch and plan the service unit camping trip.
Our troop volunteered to coordinate the spring camping trip for the Sycamore Service Unit. Our service unit is new with a lot of young troops and new leaders. Since we have done camping events for several years, several of us worked on our Gold Awards as part of the camping event and in the process prepared resources for the new leaders.  Using the theme of Harry Potter we helped scouts earn a badge or try-it while exploring one of the council's properties -- Camp Kitty.
