Community Organisation : The development programme of GSVS gives enough emphasis on the institution building of village based organisations. GSVS has been increasingly promoting the use of participatory tools for facilitation. These methods, have already generated a change in their behavior and understanding of community organisation, and have even helped to mobilise village development activities by themselves.
Community Banking : In September 2001, GSVS had started community banking (SHG’s) from Pisangan block with objective to encourage womens to save money from daily expenses for their emergency work and not to fall in the traps of Money Lenders.
Community Health : Among GSVS’s multi-sectrol development activities health is an important area. GSVS intervention in the field of health was launched in November 2001. Gradually it has evolved and has taken new dimensions and strategies. Women’s health and development programme works to attain to improve the health and nutritional status of the largest population ; particularly mothers and children through the provision of basic health education and health services in health post.
Community Education :
Education not only accelerates the pace of development but prepares people to participate fully in the development process. GSVS pursues its broad education objective through two approaches.
1. Functional Education 2. Social Education 3. Child Education
Community Agriculture : For raising the operational area’s economic standing and independence, community based irrigation schemes have been taken up on experimental basis in the light of the pressing need of the community.
1. Renovation of tanks. 2. Renovation of irrigation wells. 3. Soil conservation
4. Watershed programme 5. Wasteland development 6. Fodder development

Income Generation Programme : GSVS intension behind this programme is to make rural people especially women self dependent so that they can take decisions in family and society. This will also help to reduce migration from that regions. IGP is going on only these womens & men groups, who have no alternative for income generation.
