The education in China can be seen. Before education/schools could not be found at a lot of rural areas, however over the past few years the government has helped established school in minor cities and rural villages.

However for the most parts, most minor cities still don’t have enough schools. Even if there is a school, it still can’t be afforded by most. The school fee cost between 300 to 400 RMB per year. While in Hong Kong, education is free up until 9th grade. The schools also aren’t well supplied. Take for example, I went to a class room in one of road side villages, and the most modern thing they had in the classrooms, were electrical lights. They had an adequate amount of text book; there was one book per three students.

This was one of the local schools that we went to.  They        This is one of the classroom in the school we visited.  Quite a
teach the same subjects as us.                                                       lot of people per class (this was the taken at the same place
as the picture on the left).

In the big cities the schools are better funded and are relatively bigger then the ones in small cities, the schooling is also free like in Hong Kong. The difference probably is because the district council government in the area of the bigger cities have more money to utilize on education, therefore the education they provide is relatively better then education provided in less funded regions of China. Some students live in a rich family that live in the big cities can choose to go to famous/good schools to get better schooling because that family has the finical support. You can see that in Shanghai, where HKIS opened a branch there. Students living in small cities are considered lucky if they get schooling at all, epically those that live in villages.

The local school education system in Hong Kong is very unstable, so some parents send there children to good/famous schools in China. They do this in hopes of getting a good university in China or the US, therefore having a better future for their children.
