Dear friends,

In 1980, after having graduated from Bible College, I pastored a church in the city of Matane. The church was four years old and had only ten members. This small town had 14,000 citizens. After a few years, we hadn’t grown according to our wish, far from it. To teach a handful of children in Sunday School, there were five Bible College students. We had all the necessary help. After having read and read again : « The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field. » Luke 10,2. «I tell you open your eyes and look at the fields! They are riped for harvest. » John 4,35. I was so frustrated to hear Jesus telling me that the harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few, with the size of the congregation we had. After pastoring that church, we spent ten years in Ivory Coast.

God blessed us with a great harvest : the national pastors and myself planted 170 new churches that still existing today and that grow spritually. We did not need any worker from Canada since the national church trained pastors in sufficient number. The biggest need was in the Christian Education. We bless the Lord for the Gauchers who are there doing a good job in this area now.

We have been in Haiti for a little over three years now. In October 1998, we planted a kids church in our yard. For our first meeting, we had 30 kids. A year later, we have about 500. We can see the day that we’ll have 1,000, 2,000 and even 5,000. Why not? But to grow, we need help. Every week, Louise and I we visit about 200 kids at home, we pass out flyers at the school’s doors, we teach and Pierre leads in worship and also teaches. Our responsabilities vary from sweeping the yard, taking care of the sicks and serve a hot meal twice a week to all those kids. It is now that we can really say : « The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. »

We need help. Not necessarily christians with a pastoral training, but dedicated christians. If you have in your congregation someone who would like to live an experience overseas from six months to one year, please refer them to us. WE PRAY DAYLY FOR HELP!

We bring you our Best Wishes for the New Year. May God gives the very best to you.

Thank you so much for your financial support and for your prayers.
