Charbonneau Port-au-Prince, January,
2000 Dear friends, In 1980, after having graduated from Bible College, I pastored a church in the city of Matane. The church was four years old and had only ten members. This small town had 14,000 citizens. After a few years, we hadnt grown according to our wish, far from it. To teach a handful of children in Sunday School, there were five Bible College students. We had all the necessary help. After having read and read again : « The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field. » Luke 10,2. «I tell you open your eyes and look at the fields! They are riped for harvest. » John 4,35. I was so frustrated to hear Jesus telling me that the harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few, with the size of the congregation we had. After pastoring that church, we spent ten years in Ivory Coast. God blessed us with a
great harvest : the national pastors and myself
planted 170 new churches that still existing today and
that grow spritually. We did not need any worker from
Canada since the national church trained pastors in
sufficient number. The biggest need was in the Christian
Education. We bless the Lord for the Gauchers who are
there doing a good job in this area now. Michel & Louise Charbonneau -- |
