Dear friends,

A while ago, little Gerald (10) found a $20 bill on the street. $20 US represents the average income of his family for a month. He came running to us with the bill, but on his way met a young lady who teared it out of his hands and ripped it up. She told us that the voodoos curse money, throw it in the streets for wandering children to collect. It is believed that if children buy food with this money, they will die after enjoying their meal. Gerald finally made his way to us crying. We were able to rescue the bill with tape and exchanged it for the national currency. We explained to him that we have no need to fear curses because Jesus is all powerful and has freed us from such curses.

We took two days off in a Guest House on the mountain. At night, the temperature went down to 15 C. We were forced by the cold to use the fire place. It is hard to believe that we had to heat in Haiti. Max, our son, slept with four blankets! It is good to know that 40 minutes away from here we can get cold if we miss winter temperatures.

Don Raymer, the PAOC’s West Indies coordinator, came to visit us in February. He will be sending some containers of food for the children. Rev Mark Lecompte from Quebec Bible Institute and Rev David Blakely from Bethel Pentecostal church in Ottawa came along with him. Mark has started working towards opening a Bible College in Haiti. Please pray for this project. A few days later, we had the privilege of receiving Rev & Mrs Mervyn Thomas from Brampton Pentecostal in Ontario accompanied by Jeremiah, one of their board member. The church in Brampton is actually our biggest supporter.

In the middle of February, a team from Royal View in London Ontario spent two weeks with us. We were able to put on our church a net that is usually used for green houses. We will no longer be able to cook our eggs on the stage during the teaching by the sun heat! We now have an attendance of over 500. They made a difference and we want to thank them.

We were able to obtain the budget for a second pastor’s family to come to work with us in Haiti. The Department of Missions is presently looking for this family.

PLEASE PRAY:
- For a pastor to replace us during our home assignment and some Volunteers In Mission (VIM) to work with us.
- For us to get our visas so we can buy the land et start building the church.

We want to thank you for your gifts and prayers.
