All the animes that I
have seen are made in Japan, they are either in the
form of TV series (animation shown on TV regularly)
or OVA (original video animation, that is only
available for purchase in stores or by mail). Most of
these animes are based on some manga or novel, so
I've put the anime info in the Manga section.
One
title that I have to mention here is Ai No Kusabi,
based on a novel written in 1987, the anime produced
around in 1995, this seems to be the most graphic and
the first well-known anime of the the yaoi genre at
the time, and it was only available for mail purchase
from the publisher in Japan. For the english speaking
audience, there is always the readily found fansubbed
version.
