Dynamics

Dynamics is the study of WHY things move. Contrast this with kinematics, which is simply HOW things move. (Classical) Dynamics was single handedly developed by Isaac Newton, the first great theoretical physicist and Time's Man of the Century for the 17th century.

Just like kinematics, it is easier to discuss dynamics as two separate units: one dimensional and two dimensional. One Dimensional Dynamics introduces Newton and his three laws of motion. Two Dimensional Dynamics introduces inclined planes and forces at angles.

After discussing basic forces, we look at gravity in depth. There is an interesting history surrounding our concept of gravity, from Aristotle to present day Einsteinian theory. We will discuss this and the "other forces" at length.
