How we met
I am a very curious person but a lot of time I meet people
even more curious than me. People always ask us how we met.
Yea, how did we meet? Um, let me remember .... I am pretty sure Arthur didn't dig a tunnel
in his back yard and accidentally dig too deep that it led him to the other side of the
earth and met me.
It was just another day at an English class, and I was sitting
there trying to stick my tongue out and keep it between my teeth to pronounce the
"th" sound thinking that I will bite myself one day trying to say this sound.
Suddenly, there was a foreigner, who appeared from nowhere. Well, perhaps I was half
asleep and didn't see him coming.
His face was red and he was all sweaty. His hair was so blonde because of the strong sun
in Vietnam and how odd! his eyes were not black, they were blue. His hair was all wet and
curly, his clothes were soaking because of the tropical heat ...
" Wow, what a strange looking human being!!!! and a very interesting one " I thought. He wore a big happy smile, the smile that
captured my heart. He started to read a lesson from the book with his gentle and kind
voice for us and there I was listening and looking at the most strange person I had ever
seen.... What happened after that was our hearts did it all, not us. It took two years, 4
more visits and a room-full of paperwork for these wedding pictures to exist today.
Now, don't think that you can smile like him. Wait
until you get there. Just imagine all day long sitting on the bus, unable to speak a word
of Vietnamese, the tropical heat killing you and that's not all, the friggin' English
teacher sees you get off the bus and asks you for a favor, reading a lesson for his
students, because you are an English speaker. With all that, you think you can smile
happily??? I am not too sure

There are a whole lot more pictures
when we first met. We went on picnic almost everyday. We left Vietnam and forgot to bring
them. I will update this page whenever we got the rest of the photos from Vietnam. |

is standing to the left. |
Arthur, in front of the Royal Palace in Cambodia. Vietnam was
the next country he visited after Cambodia. |
This photo was taken by Art's mother who came to Vietnam with
Louise (Art's sister) to join our wedding in July. |

Art hates to have his picture taken. The first time we went
out and I managed to take this one for myself. Is he handsome or what??? |
First picnic at the Coco Beach. Yea, you can't see his eyes
because he didn't wear as a big hat as I did. Good for me. |
First picnic at the Coco beach. From left to right: cousin,
sister, cousin, brother, me, Art who drank most of the coco nut, little friend, friend,
brother. |
Here again, my one-of-a kind Melon Head. Sitting in the Mekong
river in Phnom Penh of Cambodia. I bet his tour guide made him take this picture. |
