The Message of God's Story

You have watched God's Story. But have you understood the real message of God's Story? As you have seen, it is the message of God given through all the prophets from the beginning of time. It is a message that clearly came from God for all people on earth. It is not just a message for one people.

Some people might say that the message of God's Story is a good message because it is a message of faith. Some say it's good because it encourages people to worship God. This is right, but our worship of God must be done in truth and our faith must be based on true information; otherwise it is simply a false truth. If God's Story is a good story; then it must be the truth about God, because a message that is not true is not good.

God's Story tells us that Adam, ﻡﺪﺁ, was punished for the sin he committed. Even though he knew he had done wrong, knowing it wasn't good enough. He was still punished for his sin. And since he, the first man who God made and who was given the right to rule over the whole earth, was punished, how can we expect to escape the just reward for our own sin?

God's Story is about the original of evil. It shows us how God made everything good. Evil is simply the misuse of the things God has given us. Therefore, evil comes from the disobedience of Satan ﻦﺎﻁﻴﺷ and man--not from God. Therefore, man, not God, is responsible for man's sin.

God's Story is also about the truth that Isaac was the son that was sacrificed in order to fulfill the promise God made to Ibrahim ﻡﻳﻫﺍﺮﺒﺍ . God gave a promise to Ibrahim ﻡﻳﻫﺍﺮﺒﺍ that all the people's of the earth would be blessed through one person of his and Isaac's seed because the need of the world was a work that only one person could do. This is why we see that all the scriptures point to Jesus Christ ﺢﻴﺴﻣﻟﺍ ﻰﺳﻳﻋ as the last prophet. This part of the story is not one of ethno-centrism or racial prejudice. It is a message of unconditional mercy and love through the proper channel that God provided. As has been faithfully recorded, this provision was the fulfillment of many promises through God's many prophets.

Jesus Christ ﺢﻴﺴﻣﻟﺍ ﻰﺳﻳﻋ is presented in God's Story as the Son of God. Yet as you can see he was not the physical son of God. He was the spiritual Son of God because God, whose nature is so superior to ours and who is above all our thoughts and comprehension, has revealed that Jesus Christ ﺢﻴﺴﻣﻟﺍ ﻰﺳﻳﻋ was the very spirit and essence of God come in human flesh. This all occurred to fulfill God's promises of love toward mankind without diminishing the power or glory or honour of God in any way.

As stated, the message of God's Story is a message for all people. It would be a dishonour to the God who made us to despise his message. Even though some people may reject it or ignore it, the message has never worn out. It is as true today as it was when it was given. And it will be the message by which all men are judged.

To refuse God's message is to forfeit our acceptance before God. Even the prophet Adam ﻡﺪﺁ after his sin, needed a covering of righteousness (acceptance before God.) But this acceptance can never be achieved by doing good deeds. Nor can it be gotten without sin being judged and punished. God is so holy that no amount of our "good" deeds can cover up even one of our mistakes or failures.

It is true that if God were to judge men as their deeds deserved he would not leave a single man alive on the face of the earth, just as he did in Noah's ﺎﺣﻮﻧ day. However, God doesn't grade on the curve. He doesn't say, "Men are so bad, but even though they don't match up to my standard, I'll let the best 50% into my heaven." God has determined to judge sin as it deserves. He does not hate men; he hates sin. This is why he has purposed for Jesus Christ, ﺢﻴﺴﻣﻟﺍ ﻰﺳﻳﻋ to die in our place for the sin we have committed and then come back to life again. His death and resurrection has meaning because he is the only man who never sinned and therefore never needed to ask forgiveness because he never sinned nor made a mistake. His death took the punishment of sin and his resurrection proved that he really had power over the consequences of sin--death--so he could give his followers this same victory. He is the blessing that can bless the whole world. Without this blessing, every person is separated from God for all eternity. This is the message of the prophets from the beginning of time.

So what is our response?

First, we can only receive this promise with humility--the humility of repentance, which acknowledges that we have had wrong thinking and therefore wrong actions toward God, which is subtly displayed through how we treat our fellow man and the attitudes of our hearts and minds. Second, we must admit that even the best of our actions are tainted with sin, failure and mistakes. We need to trust in God and believe that the man, Jesus Christ, ﺢﻴﺴﻣﻟﺍ ﻰﺳﻳﻋ whom he provided, has done the work needed to take the punishment for our sin and take the fear out of death. Finally, we need to trust God for courage, because Satan ﻦﺎﻁﻴﺷ hates God and his beloved Mesih, Jesus Christ ﺢﻴﺴﻣﻟﺍ ﻰﺳﻳﻋ. Satan may devise all sorts of evil against us. He may tempt us from within and from without. But we never need to fear when we've been accepted by God. This acceptance is not by our own "good deeds" but by simply and humbly believing in the provision for our acceptance with God through Jesus Christ ﺢﻴﺴﻣﻟﺍ ﻰﺳﻳﻋ. This type of faith naturally loves others and seeks the best for their lives. This faith is rare but the message it promotes is still powerfully with us today--the message you have seen in God's Story.

God does not force this message on anyone; he simply offers this message to everyone. People may reject this message and mock it and laugh, but we don't have the right to laugh and mock. Only God has this right. It is a sobering thought that he will exercise this right toward all who have been made by him and received many good things from him but who in the end dishonour him by rejecting what he has promised.

May God bless you as you consider this message.
