Tai Chi Chuan is an ancient Chinese form of gentle exercises for
total self-improvement, in the areas of relaxation, muscle-toning, and
strengthening of the spine and internal vital organs.
The forms consist of classical martial arts movements ( the snake, the
crane, cloud hands…) these movements teach the body to know balance and
the mind to control the muscles. Proper breathing is stressed to assist
relaxation and better blood circulation.
Regular practice helps strengthen bones, muscles and joints. Since many
movements hinge on the waist and involve a great deal of lumbar movement,
systematic exercise can be beneficial to the form and structure of the
lumbar, vertebral and the spinal column as a whole.
As in its beginnings in a Taoist monastery in old china, the emphasis is
on tranquillity and peace of mind, spirit and body, and development in
awareness of being.
Tai Chi is an excellent way to improve healthier living; suitable for
everyone, young and old!!!
Tai Chi classes are available during the day, and upon request, at your
workplace. Soft Chinese slippers available.
