Here is a recipe that was just too cute not to add to this page. It is just an outline recipe that presupposes brewing experience. It walks the line between mead and ale. Enjoy!

Pooh Beer


Brewed 11/9/86

Bottled 11/19/86

Size 10 Gallons

7.5 lbs light dry malt extract

6 lbs light clover honey

3 oz saaz hops (boil)

3 tbsp gypsum

1 pinch irish moss

1 oz saaz hops (finish)

2 packs Muntona yeast (failed to start)

2 packs Leigh Williams yeast (started ok)

0.66 cup light dry malt extract (bottling)

1.75 cup corn sugar (bottling)

OG1: 1.021 @ 75 d.f.

OG2: 1.036 @ 80 d.f.

FG1: 1.008 @ 70 d.f.

FG2: 1.008 @ 70 d.f.
