The Community

Tel Zion is a close-knit community situated just north of Jerusalem. The community was created as a solution for young and growing families. Just 10 years after its establishment, there are currently over 700 families living in Tel Zion, making it one of the quickest growing cities in the country. Many more are waiting for the completion of their apartments.

Tel Zion's short distance from Jerusalem, led to a situation where, besides for large supermarket and health-clinics, there are also numerous home-businesses and family-run free services. These enable families with many children to be able to take care of all their business locally.

In accordance with the needs of the community, there are many kindergartens and pre-schools available for all the existing, various age groups. There are also a number of large playgrounds.

The community is composed not only of native Israelis, but there is also a high percentage of immigrants from English speaking countries, the former Soviet Union, France, South America etc. This contributes to the multi-faceted character of Tel Zion and its appeal. One of the main appeals of Tel Zion is the fact that everyone is friends with everyone, and seeing different groups intermingle is common place.
