Blue Limestone Park

Blue Limestone is a normal, albeit small park, complete with a few shelter houses, ball diamonds, a short dock that extends into the main quarry, basketball court, vollyball area, playground equipment including swings and several walking paths.

The tunnel that leads to the back two quarries is about 100 feet long and covered in graffiti, which changes often. You must navigate around a metal quasi-gate; the tunnel is dark and if you slip, you will enjoy a plunge into the shallow creek 10 feet below you. At the end of the tunnel is a conical sewer covering, once again sprayed with graffiti, some of an attempt to scare people; such as the obligatory pentegram, "666" and the word Satan.
Above the tunnel is a set of train tracks, which are still in operation today.

The two quarries are easily accessible via any number of paths that extend through the back of the park, although the paths have become more and more overgrown as the years carry on. Sprinkled throughout this area is a number of concrete "things" that used to have some purpose, although I cannot figure out what.

There have been rumors of multiple deaths at the hands of Satanists, quarry drownings (murders and suicides) and train wrecks. After speaking with the Director of the Ohio Parks and Recreational Services, she confirmed that the deepest part of the main quary is in fact 10 feet; hardly enough water to cover even one train laying on its side.

The quarries, including the main one right across from the ball diamonds, have allegedly claimed a few lives due to drowning. The main quarry looks like a quagmire covered in moss; yet despite the appearance, people still fish there. the only thing I ever caught were Bluegills and snagged that nasty algae.
Despite being a river rat(I grew up next to the Scioto River), I cannot swim and therefore I am unable to verify the depth by diving in.

She also denied that any drownings took place ever, but it was more of a dismissal of the question than a fact. It is hard to believe that no one ever died from drown in a quarry this old, with it being accessible by so many kids. Drownings do not prove the existance of ghosts or murders, but I cannot deny the creepy feeling I get everytime I go and the sun starts to set.
The tunnel is especially unnerving in the dark.

Check it out if you can, it is located in Delaware, between 36 (William St) and 37 (Central). The sign is located on William St. right before the railroad tracks, as you leave town.
