There are more abandoned houses in Central Ohio than any of the other "urban curiosities" listed on this page, yet strangely anough I have yet to add any of them. That will change hopefully in the next few months. The preception of some of these houses is that there is an almost uncontrollable presence, a presence silently screaming to get out and be set free. They think that if someone died in the house, especially a child and/or a suicide, that the spirit of the person lingers, to impose its rage or to relive the same terrible night. Each house exists in its own stage of decay; the structure that once protected its inhabitants struggles now to keep from caving in on itself; a testament to entropy. Each wall, floor and ceiling holds every memory of its former tenants, every door and window mute spies to the secrets told and the acts committed.
