Hm, sounds to me that Hillary has exactly the qualities of the people now filling not only the Senate, but also the House, along with the rest of government. We are supposed to be a Republic (not a democracy) but our government seems to have forgotten that.
Both groups do as they wish whether the people of America want it or not. No American wants to knowingly give up liberties being systematically removed by the authoritarian figures in Congress and other parts of the government.
We are close to being an Orwellian society now and the longer the current tyrants stay in power, the closer we get. Our right of privacy has been invaded far past what the founders of this nation intended. We pay income taxes on personal income even though it is unconstitutional. We are numbered just as is an Orwellian society.
How? The answer in each of the above is because the American public has been hoodwinked into allowing it by the slick-talking authoritarian-based people filling our government. And they know the American public, the majority being authoritarian-based themselves, will respond as Congress dictates.
The number of ‘free-thinkers’ in Congress, the number of ‘self-actualizing’ people, could be counted on one hand - with fingers left over. All respond to what is good for their individual parties or themselves, not the good of the people. And the people bow to their dictates.
And what politician actually votes as his constituency wants unless pre-determined so as to allow the vote to go as dictated by what Congress and its purchasers, big business, want, not the American people?
Most Americans know campaign funding reform is necessary but the tyrannical powers in the House killed any chance of it at least through the 106th Congress. Were constituencies asked? Did the majority in Congress wish any actions concerning reform be killed?
If so, the results were ignored by power-mad Orwellian-type politicians, namely Gingrich (thank the Heavens he is gone) and his powerful cohorts in the House.
Now, Hillary is smart. She showed that as she easily handled members of Congress and investigators’ questions and/or statements. Actually, she virtually allowed them to make asses of themselves. Or, I should say, to allow their degrees of being asses to show.
I think she has far more on the ball than any of the candidates for president, maybe even more than all of them put together. So, could she handle being in the Senate?
Well, I guess the answer is - yes, except she may be over-qualified as far as intelligence and awareness are concerned.
