“As in any court proceeding, witnesses are necessary during a trial so that evidence may be thoroughly weighed and tested before a conviction.”
These are the words uttered by lead prosecutor, Rep.Henry Hyde, R-IL. Isn’t this rather like saying, “You will have a fair trial before we hang you.”
From this statement, it is obvious even to the most brain-dead that the GOP plan is to prosecute Mr. Clinton by the means allowed in the Constitution, those of impeachment.
It has been, and is their plan, to find any miniscule evidence of wrong-doing by Mr. Clinton, regardless of any public outcry to the contrary. And for nothing more than what each of them quite possibly do daily, that is, violating their oaths of office and engaging in sexual activities not of a moral character. And certainly every GOP member in Congress violates their oath of office daily.
In regards to Clinton, it is as if we have returned to the days of Judge Roy Bean. "Damn the delays - let's give him a fair trial and then hang him!"
Well, people who support the Republican Party can think otherwise but this whole thing is nothing more than political crap being shoveled out by the party. It is political garbage at its worst.
But, you know what, Ladies and Gentlemen, I think it is going to backfire on them. I think the truth about too many of them is going to come out with the result the American public is going to turn on them.
It is obvious Republicans have forgotten or ignored the presumption of innocence. If they can forget this basic premise of justice of our nation, what are they going to do with the rest of us concerning our Constitutional rights?
Before they destroy this nation completely, I, for one, hope every one of those sleeze balls lose their offices before we attempt to correct the problems of this nation in the upcoming Millennium.
I pray the American people open their eyes and minds to the destruction being done by the Republican Party in their unjustified quest to ruin President Clinton.
