“Under Siege”

I have been out of it for a few days as my brothers and I have been on our annual fishing trip. I feel rather bad that I haven’t written at least three or four articles this past week and sent them out to as many online publications as I can. But, then I thought, “What the heck - very few are used or maybe even fewer paid any attention to.”

Then, I realized this is kind of a defeatist attitude and I am no quitter. I also realized that I have received comments from a great number of editors and others, with the majority supporting what I had written and only a few finding fault. So, maybe a few do read what I write.

I also realized that it is not as I thought it was before teaching myself to use a computer, eventually getting on the Internet. I actually thought I was alone in my somewhat feeble attempts through a typewriter and 'snail' to get my views on what the US (meaning the people we have in Washington, DC) is doing to our liberties as greedy, power-hungry people who care not for the American public.

I found there are many people such as myself who are absolutely fed up with our rights being eroded and/or removed by tyrants in disguise as representatives of the people who make up their constituencies. At least I know now that my island has a populace and it has given me great hope for the people of this nation and the principles it was founded on. And, perhaps I will yet find a publisher that finds my thoughts worthy of being put to print.

Our liberties are under siege and have been for the majority of my life - that is, for the last 53 years. I just never realized the extent until negative campaigning in 1995 caused me to consider just how poor the politicians we have in Washington are as people and as leaders of what could have been the greatest nation in the world.

I say ‘could have been’ because we aren’t now the greatest nation nor the home of the free. Our forefathers warned us of what could be unless the central government was monitored and controlled by the people. What they warned us of has happened. Greed and power of politicians too long in office are destroying the fabric the nation.

Our Constitution is now not much more than ass-wipe for a government totally out of control. The extent really hit me this week as I was trying to explain to my brothers and others that they do not have to pay income taxes, that they do not have to have a social security numbers, and several other facts that are as foreign to them as they were to me a few months ago.

My gosh, the extent of brain-washing this felonious government of ours has accomplished is sickening to me. My stomach is now doing flip-flops at the helplessness I feel in getting people to do what is Constitutionally correct instead of what our corrupted Congress dictates.

I also feel great fear that the only way the situation is going to be corrected is by a complete over-throw of the United States (Constitutionally speaking, "United States" means the government of the United States of America which is housed in Washington, DC). Why do I say that?

Well, first and foremost is the fact that far too many politicians have been in power for decades. This is a mistake. We do not allow the President of the United States to be in office for more than two terms due to the corruptive nature of political power. So, why do we allow Senators and representatives to hold office term after term for years and years and years?

Anyway, it has resulted in each and everyone of them learning to manipulate the system to their own and their special interests' advantages and to keep increasing their power. So, of course, it is to their benefit to do as they have been, removing liberties of the people one by one with the eventual result of none remaining.

Billions of dollars the government shouldn’t have available is because they have conned the people into believing in unconstitutional legislation. Because of the depth of the defrauding, it is no longer a government “of the people, for the people, and by the people”: it is a government of the government, for the government, by the government, and the people be damned!!

Their (House, Senate, White House, and all other government entities) attitude is: “We will take their money, their property, their homes, whatever we want when we want and, if they don’t like it, they can go elsewhere or, if any start getting too much power, we will simply cause them to disappear (or taken care of publicly as were John F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King, Jr.).

We have the military and nearly every other governmental organization now armed and can freely enter any home of any person without fear of retribution by the majority. Fear, just as it has with social security and taxes, will cause the people to fall into line.”

We have been under siege by legislation intended to remove rights and any means of defending the Constitution. You see, the Constitution is the enemy of a central government determined to establish a totalitarian government. Likewise, the enemies of the Constitution are politicians who have served far too many terms and have become increasingly corrupted by power.

So, why do we keep putting them back into office, the Doles, Gingriches, Armeys, Bushes, Helms, Clintons, Burtons, Quayles, and so on through the 535 we now have. True, Dole, Gingrich, and Reagan are gone with Clinton soon to be. But, others have taken their place and still control behind the scenes. (I mean, get real - do any believe E. Dole could really be president? Or, Quayle? Or, for that matter, any of the others who are in the running, such as Bush. None of these are capable and are more likely to just be a puppet for "behind-the-scenes" control, an actor along the lines of the one we had for eight long years - a puppet for the party's controlling members, whoever they may be.)

What we need to get out from under siege from our government is every last stinking one of them removed from office and terms limited to no more than two, three at the very most.

We also need bills clearly written so that any fourth grader can read them. Added on legislation must be prohibited. In other words, if a bill is about highway speed, then that is all the bill may have in it. Furthermore, each representative must read it in its entirety and each bill must be read on every newscast of every major network so that the public may know exactly what any bill is designed to do.

Also, any bill found out later to not be as it was presented to the public would immediately become null and void. No more of this crap of adding in stuff or making it so complicated it can’t be understood, including by those who wrote it.

Yes, understood. Right now, very few people in government understand bills as written. If they did, there would be only one interpretation, not several. Of course, this stands to reason since few read the bills.

I even think every person running for public office should have to show his knowledge of the Constitution, Declaration of Independence, Internal Revenue codes, Social Security and a command of the English language adequate enough for the majority of the people of this nation to understand them. If they don’t have the knowledge and/or ability, which most apparently don’t, how in the hell can they possibly legislate for the good of the people of this union of 50 states?

This also applies all the way down to township offices. It must include them all because no one actually knows (or do they) who will be future Washington, DC politicians?

I am fed up with the government affecting my rights. I need to work but I also know I will have to fill out a damned W-4 to get a job. It is against my Constitutional rights but any business electing to offer me employment doesn’t know that. So, they insist I must.

Then, I will have much of my money earned taken by the government illegally as far as I am concerned. They are stealing it just as effectively as if they rolled me on a city street. You see, I know that I don’t have to file a 1040 but I also know if I don’t, the IRS will sent its mafia-like enforcers after me, bust into my home and take anything they want, including my life should I fight them.

I know the government hasn’t any right to know any my behaviors that aren’t illegal, including the arms I own, what I buy, where my money comes from, transactions involving money, or anything about me that comes under my Constitutional, God-given liberties.

My liberties are my liberties and I will, if backed into a corner, defend them with my life, just as I would have given my life in the name of freedom before I more fully understood the Viet Nam war. It was not a conflict of democracy but one of political power and financial greed, the same things that are now guiding world politics.

We must, Ladies and Gentlemen, end the siege and the only way to do that is to get rid of politicians who have been in the US and States governing for more than three, maybe even two, terms. Then, we must get involved and demand that every politician maintain integrity and morality. We don’t have any ethical people in government right now or, in the event of there might be one or two, they won’t be after a few more years of being corrupted by greed and power.

It is time we demand our Constitution be fully enforced as it is written. Right now, we are not the union of States as established by our forefathers. We are just a bunch of states and people under control of the federal government, an entity established only for the common defense and welfare of the many States.

If you don’t believe this, then refuse to pay income taxes that are being taken from you. Or, refuse to give your social security number. Or refuse to stand for a spot check on the highways. Or, refuse to show identification when asked (demanded) by any law enforcement person. Or, to enroll your children in school without them having a social security number. Or, hundreds of other actions now controlled in some way by our so-called government of the people.

Then, Ladies and Gentlemen, tell me we haven’t been under siege by the US, meaning the federal government, with the result of it being tyrannical control over the People of the united States of America.
